Who else loves NYC?

I've never been but it seems like a rat-infested shithole.

This is what I'm talking about. Yuck! https://nypost.com/2022/06/01/nyc-has-a-major-rat-problem-and-its-not-doing-enough/

I've always wanted to see NYC but I won't go there knowing it's a crime infested third world shithole right now.
shareKeep out, it's a mess.
The museums are terrific and world class but parking is 25 bucks for the afternoon and junkies and hookers and babbling loons are not uncommon. It'll cost you $500 to take a family of four to a Yankees game and NEVER go to the Zoo on Tuesdays...that's 'free admission' day for city schools and the city kids go wild on field trips!
New England, the Mid Atlantic states and the South are way nicer.
I was a preteen/teen during the big bad 1970s. Graffiti and crime were on the rise, inspiring movies like Death Wish (1974). Times Square was a porn filled blight. The city was broke. But you know what? People were not being pushed on to subway tracks.
I left ten years ago. I wouldn't even visit the place now.
I’ve only been in one of the airports during the worst planned trip between Washington D.C. and Miami. I used to be a big fan of Mad Men and envied the idea of living in Manhattan where there were endless things to do and social opportunities that aren’t available in the town in Florida I live in.
shareI have visited many times as a tourist and have always had a fantastic time there.

shareOnly rich people love that town. Everyone else hates it.
