How did you find movie chat?
I was still on imdb when someone started advertising this alternative, I think it was the founder himself since he also mentioned the legality of MC

I never posted on IMDb but I read the posts on the message boards a lot and I just loved reading ecarle's postings. I've learned so much about movies and interesting trivia from reading his posts over the years.
Last November, our long-time family pet cat passed away (She was awesome...my wife brought her with her from Ukraine when she came to the USA back in December 2004 and she was such a great kitty). For some reason, I had been thinking about ecarle and did a search for him before our cat died and MovieChat popped up. After the cat died, I finally took the plunge and signed up...I wanted to tell ecarle how much I've enjoyed reading his posts over the years.
I really wasn't planning on posting here much, but I really love this site and appreciate all the interactions I've had here. This Fall is really going to be very busy for me (My oldest son plays soccer and runs cross-country, my middle son is in band, and my youngest son is playing youth soccer, plus there's college and high-school football to watch & golf to play).
I searched ''movie forum'' because I wanted to trash some movies, and the first result was the ''Movie Forums'' which is a heavily moderated crappy site, (I was banned from my first post) and second result was this site, so here I am
shareYIKES.π«€
sharei am a member over there. not a lot of posting going on.
shareSomeone recommended MovieChat at Filmboards.
shareRECOMMENDED?...FROM FILMBOARDS?...YOU SURE THEY WEREN'T SAYING HOW TERRIBLE IT IS HERE?
shareYes, from Filmboards. πβ
Sorry, I won't tell you who exactly it was.
And true, mostly badmouthing there about MovieChat.
Somewhere I've read you came from Filmboards too?
I FOUND MC AND FB ON THE SAME DAY...AFTER A SHORT TIME IT BECAME APPARENT THAT MC IS BEST...BY FAR.
shareSorry, Filmboards' design is better, closest to IMDb.
MovieChat especially misses exact time stamps and comfortable features like formatting (bold, italic, quotes, spoiler blankets are much easier at Filmboards).
The IMDb archive is the same.
At Filmboards you can connect your current username with your old IMDb's.
Other than that, I agree.
Better talks here and the Mods are moderating!...still very free.
At Filmboards are just Trolls out of control again. β»
Ok ok, every now and then I troll too. βΊ
Yah, you're also a Troll, but usually one of the funny sort, you annoying frog. πΈβ
I can't recall exactly, I may have just looked up movie forums and when I clicked on this site I loved that the IMDb style format for all films, tv shows, actors etc had been imported.
I tried IMDb2 which is a troll haven and Rotten Tomato's which was also terrible.
I went Googling for an alternative to IMDB when the message board shut down and Movie Chat looked like the best one.
