How often do you drink energy drinks?

I drink one a day, usually at lunch.
I don't drink coffee, so the energy drink keeps me awake.

reply

Does Gatorade count? If so, every now and then when it's hot.

Lots of calories and salt though - water would probably be better but whatever.

reply

Less caffeine than most energy drinks. More healthy.

reply

Never.

reply

Never, I tried a few and they all gave me irregular heartbeats.

So it's lovely natural tea for me, with occasional lovely natural coffee, and too much extremely unnatural Diet Coke.

reply

Good for you guys for not drinking energy drinks.
Once every few months it gives me a stomach ache and I take a break.

reply

Yeah, well, the reason I don't drink much coffee is because that gives me stomach aches!

Tea is the only form of caffeine induction that I've found to be palatable, and free of undesirable side effects. Why can't getting our caffeine always be easy and pleasant??? it's not like we can face the working world without it!

reply

Never have.

I've never even tried a so-called "energy drink." They're a scam anyway, since the only source of energy they have in them is sugar (carbohydrates), which I can get from the ordinary Coca-Cola that I normally drink. The funny thing is, some of them don't have any source of energy at all, for example:

"0 Calories," LOL. 0 Calories means zero energy by definition, since its a unit of measurement of energy, yet it's an "energy drink." I'd like to know how they get away with bullshit like that.

An example of a real energy drink is whole milk. One cup contains 150 Calories, with the sources of that energy being well distributed among all three of the energy sources for humans that exist (well, technically speaking, four sources exist if you count ethanol, AKA "booze"): 8 grams of protein, 8 grams of fat, and 12 grams of carbohydrates.

reply

You right, some of the energy drink are scam, many of them exaggerate about the level of energy they provide and some both (from your example, "superhuman performance").

reply

"some of the energy drink are scam"

They're all a scam. They are just soda. Caffeine and other stimulants are not an energy source; only food is an energy source for humans (fat, protein, and carbohydrates). If a "Monster," "Red Bull," etc., is an "energy drink," then so is Coca-Cola, Mountain Dew, Moxie, and every other soda that has caffeine.

reply

I don't drink coffee or tea, there is any other drink you can recommend me for staying awake instead of energy drink? even if it is only because of the caffeine. Something more healthy.

reply

If "energy drinks" work for you then stick with what works. I doubt there's any significant health difference compared to any other drink with similar amounts of sugar and caffeine.

In my teens I used to drink one a day.

These days over the course of a week I'd drink maybe three. I had cut them down to about one a week but I've relapsed a bit as I enjoy them as part of my hangover fixer upper.

It's worth mentioning I do not drink coffee or tea. Never have.

reply

Almost same as me.
We both do not drink coffee or tea.
Mostly I drink one a day, but sometimes 3-4 a week.
