Is The 70s Indisputably the Best Decade for Popular Music?

Or is my assumption incorrect?

We had soul, Motown, funk, disco, punk, new wave, prog rock, art rock, bubblegum pop, the beginnings of hip hop, synth pop etc etc.

There was some great stuff in the 60s and 80s too, but the 70s feels more consistent, it feels like a culmination of a lot of the good stuff coming out of the 60s, and by the tail-end of the 80s, it seems like record studios were turning back to earlier decades for inspiration, with covers and re-releases dominating the charts.

I'm in the USA and I vote for the eighties. I grew up in the eighties and it looks as if most people in the USA prefer the music that they grew up with. I still remember a couple classmates who preferred 50's and 70's music.
