I think he's either a sociopath using the internet to learn how to hone his skills in the real world or maybe an "agent" working on behalf of something larger. I know that sounds conspiratorial, but that guy who murdered those four students from Ohio recently was more or less doing the same thing on Reddit. He actually went on there to interact with Redditors and earn their trust to learn how to kill his victims.

This is why I will continue posting PSAs about this guy. Trolls you can usually mess around with for shits and giggles, but if "Harvey" is a bona-fide sociopath using MC to practice his skills in the real world or attached to disinfo in some way, he can't be enabled.

What I do know for certain is that he's using this forum as a type of training, like he just picked up a Dark Web version of How to Win Friends and Influence People and is trying to figure out all these techniques he learned at Movie Chat. What I can't tell is if he's just trying to practice so he can use these techniques for personal reasons (like the Ohio murderer who went on Reddit before killing those kids) or whether he's just a troll farmer who was assigned to MC and has someone over his shoulder going, "Okay, see this poster? When they say this, say that. If they respond like X, say Y."

He's practicing, no doubt. He's particularly practicing this Orwellian tactic of saying two opposing things at once, as in, "As a progressive, I'm appalled at how racist progressives are against white people or refuse to criticize blacks," or something to that effect.

It's actually pretty simple. His usual post goes something like "As a staunch progressive who bends over backwards to be more woke than thou, I would like to support a right-wing talking point while pretending I am not.".

I figured him out. It's TheMan18 in disguise (who also happens to be the opening poster in this thread rcnyc24) Why they have so many accounts and post so much is beyond me. Bots? A weirdo seeking attention?

I don't see that his posts have much of anything in common with Keelai's.

The tells are there. They have a distinct writing pattern that stands out like a sore thumb. I forget if ItsGoodToBeRight posted in the same manner.

It's not about having "energy." A lot of these people are paid or incentivized. It's become more obvious when some of them start talking about topics I either know about or have some familiarity or expertise in.

Also, from what I remember reading at the IMDB, sometimes they're "teams" of people managing a handful of socks.

For example, I remember when white supremacists were more active on YouTube trying to recruit people. They used to switch in and out of sock accounts pretending to have discussions with each other. Sometimes they would accidentally give away that they were sock accounts by not remembering which account they were logging in and out of.

We are all free to interact with posters as we wish, but my question is, why do you think he's not "hurting" anyone?

The whole point of the internet is for people of like mind--and culture and nationality--to connect with each other on topics. Why isn't it harmful if, say, French people want to express admiration for Maurice Chevalier or Jacques Cousteau, and I--as an American who can speak fluent French--start making up shit about how he was really a racist or something, while trying to pass for French. And, on top of being French, I call myself a proud leftist.

It's harmful because I'm trying to be disruptive in French people trying to touch base with each other about a national figure they admire. On top of that, I'm trying to confuse them into thinking that members of their own are now turning on popular French icons out of "Leftism," when I'm just a shit disturber from the United States.
