I guess I'm getting old, because I dont understand the point of applications?
Ebay and Amazon are one I use the most.
Why would I want to download something that takes up space on my mobile device, when I can just go to the website?
Amazon app is ugly , The layout of apps always seem more difficult.
I know there are some apps that are a must.
, but seems like they want one for every website.
I KNOW I'M GETTING OLD, BECAUSE I DON'T UNDERSTAND THE PONT OF CELLPHONES IN GENERAL.
I LET MY DAUGHTER DO ANY CELLPHONE BULLSHIT THAT IS REQUIRED.
I USE MY PC FOR EVERYTHING.
They are very handy to keep in touch with family/friends/colleagues as well as having the internet in your pocket while out and about.
If someone never goes out or doesn't have a social life then I understand why they would find the concept of cell phones confusing.
I JUST HAVE MY DAUGHTER HANDLE IT.

shareI can hack a phone, root it, put custom operating systems on it, whatever, yet I despise the smartphone culture.
I acknowledge that they can be very useful, but I preferred it when people had flip phones and didn't stare at them like zombies.
I also do everything on my PC. I have my own personal customized operating system running on FreeBSD. The Desktop environment is my own design using Fluxbox. It's dope as fuck. With just a few mouse button clicks and/or scrolls I can do anything. And if I need more control, just pop open a Terminal, get onto the command line, and then I have complete control over the entire system, literally. With an open terminal and Root access you are only limited by your skill and imagination.
I concur, I don’t like a bunch of nonsense on my phone. I’m not a fan of most apps.

shareDefinitely prefer websites over apps. All those apps are just spyware you willingly put on your phone. To be fair, most websites spy on you too, so either way you're fucked. But you're slightly less fucked with websites.

I don't use Amazon enough to download the app.
The only thing about lots of apps is that they are always communicating with their server for updates to tell you so this drains the battery. Facebook is a big battery drainer.
free music and movie apps on roku or firestick are great. i don't have a smartphone but i assume people like the mobility.

Haven't used a pc in 10 years. Can go online any second. Much less fun.
Apps are for people that are too dumb to use a computer and can only mash a screen with their thumbs.
