Dogs or cats? Which do you prefer?

Dogs are "cooler" and "fun". Cats can be stuck-up. However, cats seem a lot less maintenance and cleaner.

However, if you were in a leaking canoe on a big wide river with your favorite dog and favorite cat and you would all sink and drown if you didn’t shove one overboard which would you save?

This is why I will never watch Sophie’s Choice again, ever. You can’t make that decision in a theoretical way. It’s too horrible. I’d probably jump and try to pull the canoe ashore because I did swim team years ago.

In the dog- and cat-example you don't need to care as both can swim on their own.

Having had both, I found owning a dog to be a more rewarding experience. And they make a great walking/hiking buddy.

I've had both, and I'd say dogs lead cats by a 👃🏻 on my list. 🐶🐩🐱🐈

Love dogs, have cats!

One advantage of cats is that if you need a cat, you can just take in a stray kitten. If you do that with a puppy you might get a grown dog that's anywhere from 5 pounds to 150, but a kitten will grow up to be a regular cat. I have a new kitten, BTW, he's super cute and super sweet, and a good boy! Well, a fairly good boy...

Dogs all the way for me. I'll never own a cat. My parents had cats growing up and it's just really hard to get that urine smell out of the carpet. The one cat took a dump underneath the covers in my brother's bed so that was kind of funny.

I love my dogs and they certainly have a lot of maintenance such as cleaning, vet bills, and running them out, but I find them to be great companions. They love it when you come home, can hunt with them, walk, play ball, and they'll protect your home and you as long as you treat them with love.

They both have their pros and cons. Dogs will actually form a bond with you, while cats don't give a shit about you. But you need to take your dog out all the time to go to the bathroom, cant leave them alone for long, etc. Cats - they go to the bathroom on their own, you can leave them alone, less maintenance, etc.
