Would you name your kid "Barack"?

Barack is not my first choice for a baby's name, but I still think it's a nice name. I might give it some thought if I ever become a dad.

the strange thing is the school always had it as matthew and my wife kept crossing it out and changing it to matteo. i guess matteo didn't match with my surname.

In Hebrew it's Barak ברק (lightning; radiance).
Mention first time in the Bible (Judges) as Barak son of Abinoam ruler of Ancient Israel and military commander. A river, a moshava and a military regiment named after Barak son of Abinoam.

It's nice name but still I doubt I will ever use it.

No way. I also wouldn't name a kid Fidel or Saddam or Osama. Too many negative connotations.
