First movie you saw on DVD
Mine was X-Men (2000), it came as a bonus with the first DVD player I bought back in the day, along with Moulin Rouge and Fight Club.

shareThe Matrix (1999)
shareGreat first DVD watch! I bet it was a thrill to see those effects in DVD quality.
shareIt's one my favorite movies. I got it as a Christmas present from my cousin who took me to see it in the theaters
shareNice! You’ll get no argument from me, it’s got a permanent spot in my top 50. I was living in Sydney when it was filmed and was in the area during the filming of the Martin Place scenes (the scene where they’re in the Matrix near the fountain).
I’m glad I got to experience it on the big screen for the first time though. It was mind blowing and really felt like a leap forward for cgi and sci-fi in general.
I think it was Matilda (1996)
It was certainly the first DVD my dad ever bought when he first bought a DVD player.
I like that. I had that a generation earlier with Dad buying our first VHS and getting The Wizard of Oz and Benji and watching them until the tapes wore out.. and I could probably still recite all the lines 40 years later.
shareI bought "The Matrix" and "Almost Famous" the same day but don't recall which I saw first.
