Your thoughts on racism?
I think it's folly. Absolutely bollucks.
shareI feel being a fan of races, or any motorsports really, is simply a personal interest and nothing more.
Everyone enjoys some kind of hobby or sports and races are just another interesting level.

I will say this though. When it comes to dating, it is not racist to be attracted to a certain race. You cannot help who you are attracted to.
Some dating apps turn off the "race/ethnicity" filter. But that's folly!
Am I right about this?

correct. nor can someone call you a racist for not preferring a certain race aesthetics
shareThe profundity of Joe Friday: This may about corruption, but you could substitute racism.

It’s become a way of shutting down debate on anything. If you don’t like Indian foot you are racist! I worked with an Australian born Indian guy who said that Indian food stinks and he was branded a ist by the other Indians lol
They just throw that word out when they are losing an argument or have nothing intelligent to come back with.
It definitely has a way of wafting out of their noses, mouths, and pores making intimacy difficult.
sharelol I take it you've tried?
shareYup.
shareI've been told by an Indian that a lot of the health issues they suffer from is due to all the spices as well. So I am not surprised. The microwaves at work tend to stink from them warming up their spice heavy food too.

WTF?
Turmeric is outstanding for one's health, along with many other Indian food spices. Perhaps your friend meant the ingestion of too many extremely hot peppers.
Racism is bad, that's my first thought!
My second is that it's something you can't discuss sensibly on moviechat, with all the trolls going batshit in any political or semi-political discussion.
It predates humanity. Belong with the pack. Kill and eat everything else. Which means, sorry Woke Folk, it's in the genes.
Tribalism may be in the genes, but it is just one dimension of our perceptions, one that is very much amenable to education & experience, social influence. But, yeah, the tendency to exclude/fear/oppress is an inherent human capacity to be mined by the nefarious, resorted to when fear comes.
Living in a diverse culture, the utility of being overly preoccupied with race greatly diminishes.
It is a very complicated issue, with a complicated history. No use denying, minimizing it, disclaiming it.
For example, I find ghetto culture, rap, etc. repugnant. Maybe there is a racial aspect to that reaction, certainly a cultural one. Younger people are much, much, much less repelled. Maybe that's progress of a sort, maybe its cultural degradation. Maybe its both.
It's complicated. As long as race is such a fault line in all the important demographic factors - prosperity, opportunity, education, crime, law enforcement & justice being the main ones, race will remain front & center in our political universe. Or, until we revert to some sort of fascism with an explicit race-based hierarchy. That is also a possibility, again, along the way. Stay tuned. Explicit antisemitism seems to be making a comeback. Good thing Israel is clearing out the Palestinians - they may need more room.
