But one that you would also call a great movie.

"Paradise: Love"
"Blind" (2013, Norway)

Land of Mine (2015)

Hero (2002)

I think you mean non-english language, correct?

All American movies are non-english.

reply

Yes

To name a few that immediately
came to mind…

Irreversible (02) French
I Saw The Devil (10) Korean
Sheitan (06) French
A Serbian Film (10) Serbian
Calvaire (04) French

All of these are great thrillers but fairly nasty, I don’t know your tolerance for really nasty, creepy stuff BillHicks.

I’d call them all great thriller or horror movies but I could imagine some people walking out on them.

reply

I own the first two. Highly recommend.

I’ll likely rewatch I Saw The Devil at some point because it was non-stop violent insanity but damn, as excellently made and effective as Irreversible was I feel like it’s a movie I’ll never watch again. That one particular scene was a hell of a lot!

reply

Calvaire is a treat for the surrealist horror buff.

reply

I thought so too, what an insane movie!

Sometimes the really weird stuff is the best stuff.

Downfall 2005

I’ve never been able to find this streaming but it is a fascinating
story that I’d watch.

I’ve read that the actor who played Hitler, Bruno Ganz, really dislikes that his Hitler performance became an internet meme. I feel bad for the guy.

reply

I'm not a fan of war movies and find most Hitler performances eye-roll inducing. I had no problem watching this one, though, because it felt like a movie about real people. I think Ganz is one of the few actors who got Hitler right. Definitely worth a watch.

reply

A very good movie. The only thing that I do not like happens at the beginning showing Hitler for a couple of minutes almost as a "nice guy ", but it is a good one.
