Which of the following decades would you go back and re live? And why?
1950s
1960s
1970s
1980s
1990s
2000s
1950s
1960s
1970s
1980s
1990s
2000s
I loved a lot about the 80s, the music and movies were great. I still listen to 80s rock and watch the movies of that decade regularly.
Second choice would be the 70s for the same reasons…music and movies really took chances back then and I appreciate it.
If I’m stuck at my current age I would much rather go into the future. If I can be as young as I was before I would go back to 1984 which was my favorite year.
shareI would go back and relive pretty much every decade of my life, up until this one. Considering the way things appear to be headed in the world now, I feel EXTREMELY lucky to have been a kid in the 80's, a teen in the 90's, a 20-something in the 2000's, and a 30-something in the 2010's.
So far, I can't imagine ever wanting to go back and relive this time, though. I honestly feel bad that my son has to be a kid in the 2020's.
To be honest though, I'm sure people felt the same way in the 70s/80s/90s/2000s of that pessimistic outlook.
But maybe you do have a point. I think this "decline" happened after 9/11. After that, with the Patriot Act, Homeland Security, airport security, etc it does seem the world is more of a dystopian place compared pre-9/11.
Probably the 70s.
I was a kid and it was a great time to be a kid!
60s - just to see if was as groovy as it makes out.
shareThe 60s was an intense, transformational decade for me but I don't recall ever using the word "groovy." From my experiences, the word "cool", carried over from the beatnik culture, was much more impactful, enduring, e.g., morphing into expressions such as "chillin" and "chill out" and then entertainers adopting nicknames such as LL Cool J & Ice-T.
shareI would imagine London would have been really interesting with all the fashion and then of course The Beatles, Psychedelia, Woodstock, Flower Power and everything in between - all the stuff I missed.
shareI can still vividly remember hearing The Beatles' "I Want to Hold your Hand" for the first time over the PA in a Duckwall's store close to home where I used to hang out as a boy. It seemed really catchy for a kid who had grown up on country western music and crooners like Dean Martin.
Of course there were the high-profile political assassinations during that time which disturbed me deeply.
Yeah, as a teen needing to blend in...I just had to have some bell bottom slacks. And I also finally got my first complete drum kit during that decade and went wild with the popular rock music of the time.
Hard-core, military dad knew he had a son he could no longer control, gave up on the forced, boot camp styled haircuts and started referring to me as The Mop. :)
So along with being a doofus teen ‘needing to blend in’ you were also a son your ‘hard core military’ father couldn’t control lol!
What a tough guy, so fake.
Did you sometimes drive off to the abandoned Mill to crank up the radio and swing around on steel beams like Kevin Bacon you phony asshole?
I see your OCD really kicked in full swing tonight concerning me. 12 notifications from you over a period of several hours with your obsessive, regurgitated ranting, parroting, and projection. Who's really occupying space in someone's head?
shareI’ve been avoiding you for months but you keep poking at me when I avoid you on purpose. Anyone can attest I’ve tried to stay away from you but you just can’t let things go.
You pick a fight you get one you stinky old Hermit. Expect a great deal more of the same, each and every day.
Yadda, yadda, yadda....the justified victim stance once again. (eye-roll)
shareYou’ll see😃
Have a fun time.
Looks like you've been up all night, obsessed with trash talking me. Are you going to spend all of later today, doing more of the same, ripping off your employer once again instead of doing your job, you parasite?
shareOh, does it take the stale old Donkey that long to come back with a limp response?
You are going to hear a lot from me from now on. I tried to walk away and leave it all behind but you just kept poking.
You’re going to get real tired of me old man, I’m your new constant companion😉
I think the 80s as an adult would be fun. I was a kid during the decade and born in 1981.
share1980s. Because I was in the absolute prime of my life at that point. Actually I should say, I'd love to relive the 1980s if I could be the 1980s version of myself. NOw, if I'm the 1980s version of me, what decade would I want to relive? Most definitely the 1970s. The music, the freedom, the films. I could go on and on. I was a little boy in the 1970s. I would love to have experienced that decade as a young adult.
shareFor some weird reason the 1970s up to 1985 even though I was born in late 70s I feel those times were very exciting and great.
