That’s awful.
We just watched Grease a couple of nights ago and she’s great in it, I had no idea she was sick.
She had cancer on and off since the 90's.
One hell of a strong woman to have warded it off so many times already.
Yeah, I just told my wife and her sister this and they were bummed. They were both aware she had been sick for a long time.
shareThat's something that people don't understand about cancer. With modern treatments, a person can spend *years*, or DECADES... living the life of a cancer patient!
And apparently that's what poor Olivia went through, she had breast cancer, it recurred at least once, and I vaguely recall hearing about the second or third recurrence more than 10 years ago. And for all she went through, the cancer won in the end.
RIP.
Beautiful lady with a beautiful voice. RIP, Olivia 🕯
shareThat's sad. Always seemed like a very pleasant person and she was so good in Grease.
sharei was driving home and noticed they were playing several of her songs in a row on the oldies station. rip.
shareRest in Peace, Ms Newton-John. 🌹
shareExtremely sad news
shareSuch a sad news.
Angel voice, beautiful and from the interviews a woman with a golden heart.
Grease is my favorite musical of all time, I will never forget her as Sandy, another part from the 'soundtrack' of our life is gone.
RIP Olivia

Yes, Grease is really good, it’s one of the very few musicals that most people seem to enjoy
shareI noticed this phenomenon. I always wonder why exactly, I know why I loved it, but not sure what makes Grease such a universally loved even by people who didn't like musicals. Worth a thought.
shareHard to believe it was made 44 years ago.
RIP, Olivia
Damn! This news feels like the end of an era or something. So sad.
