Do/Did you work in the medical field?

I have not, but my mom was a nurse.

reply

No, but my grandmother was an RAF nurse in WWII.

reply

Wow, that's cool!

reply

That’s how she met my grandfather. He was an RAF pilot.

reply

This could be a great romantic wartime movie script!

‘The World Is Shattered By War But Love Heals All Wounds.’

That’s your tagline right there👍

reply

One of mine was as well, and that's how she met my grandfather, who was an RAF pilot. Both left Canada to go back to England to serve.

reply

That’s really interesting.

reply

One of my other grandfathers was a gunner on a merchant marine ship. He met that grandmother at a war dance.

reply

I love stories like these.

I was trained and certified as an EMT when I went through the Fire Academy way back in 2010. After I graduated I also passed the EMT National Registry, so I could have gone to work on an ambulance, but I never did.

My mother was an ER nurse my whole childhood, and later became a Nurse Practitioner. She just retired a few months ago.

reply

I worked in long term care as well have done home health care.

reply

Yes, I'm a doctor. I'm the doctor of love.

reply

That’s even cooler than being The Gangster Of Love.

reply

Yes. For over a decade.

reply

No, never, but my wife has been a Registered Nurse for about 27 years, we know a lot of Nurses, Cops and Firefighters through our shared circles of friends.

Nurses, Cops and Firefighters have some of the craziest work stories I’ve ever heard, they are heroes and share a very specific sense of humor. You have to be pretty tough and ‘grounded’ to do most of that sort of work…it can really beat a person up.

reply

No but my mum and sister were both nurses.

reply

There's only one job that is more thankless than teacher, and thats nurse. Its a tough job, I wouldn't want to do it.
