shareI would also like to make a statement that sometimes FILMS and MOVIES, beyond simply depicting an action and talking about say how bad it is, or in other cases not, occasionally tend to provoke in me thoughts on OTHER levels, beyond the OBVIOUS fact that what you see in films isn't real.
And since I am a big film fan period and also a bit of an impressionable movie watcher who is also used to certain tropes, cliches, themes, subjects etc, there are moments and occasions when I see something and in me, it causes a bit of a surprise. Not always, but it does.
And hence as a result, more so than if it was in real life, when I see something perhaps also a little unusual, and could also be strange and ambiguous, in a film, especially if it isn't action, horror or exploitation, I couldn't help but write about it. Including its meaning and what people think, or why a certain scene was in a movie etc and what it tried to say. It doesn't always have to be literal and also generate feelings of "Oh how bad and unfair it is, oh it makes it difficult to report to police etc".
And in "Nymphomaniac" also, the character of Joe wasn't portrayed as any kind of evil villain in general, and that scene wasn't confirmed or identified as "it" if you know what I mean. But some people thought so. And on that site one user identified it as such, perhaps even wrongly, and got angry with me, hence I felt empty and embarrassed. The INTELLECTUAL CONVERSATION that at the time I looked for, with soothing effect to take a break from reality, didn't arrive.
Of course, all of this goes very much with saying, that despite my pretentions of intellectualism, high levels of curiosity, desire for polite and friendly talk sometimes even in disturbing areas or other related examples etc, I never said I am perfect and that I am always "right", even theoretically. And of course people are welcome to disagree or even correct me if they think I am wrong etc.
But seriously...
At least in THAT moment, at least someone missed the point. But then again, even our SECRET fantasies and obsessions on one hand, and fixed strict and authoritarian attitudes with common examples on the other, are NEVER "flawless" either and in this life, we, as human beings, are ultimately ALL responsible, burdened with rules and under scrutiny hence why in this life the overall "situation" can feel frustrating, uneven, even in unexpected territories TOO like my one movie and internet example. And I hope sslg etc and others here are ALRIGHT, sorry if I was forceful yesterday but in life it was even worse, at home with family. I was crying, shouting, philosophizing, sentimentalizing, dreaming etc all at once.
