Have your driving habits changed?

With the crazy prices are you driving the same or less?

It's averaging $4.19 here in Cincinnati and I drive a hybrid that gets around 40 mpg, but I'm trying to be a little more careful than when the price was around $2.

I also have a Miata that gets driven only in nice weather and I filled the tank up when gas was $3.29 and Im glad I did. (Hard to believe $3.29 gas was a bargain.)

$4.19? We're up around $6.50 where I live.

Where is that?

Los Angeles.

I'm working two jobs as I make a career transition, all I do is work and commute!

But if I ever get a chance to go somewhere I'll go in spite of the gas prices, because well! I've got two incomes!

reply

Not so much my driving habits as my fueling habits. I've taken to filling up when the tank is half-empty rather than waiting until it's near empty, otherwise I'd be hurting. My coworkers and I have talked to our boss about the possibility of us being on a rotational schedule where we take turns coming into the office and working from home; that way we each don't have to drive so much. Hopefully something comes of it.

If the bosses could make that work it would be good for everybody there, hopefully they can, best wishes to you

Thank you, Shogun. We had another discussion about it today. It's looking like it might happen. :)

LOL - you sound like me. I drove a company car for 40 years and never had to pay for gas except in my Miata's, so I hardly noticed the big hike in 2008. I retired two years ago and had to buy a car and start paying for gas - definitely miss that perk - and I had a lot of them.
