I caught wind of this story today. She took her foot off the gas and decided to retire from her job.

Honestly, I didn't even know "smelt" was a word. I just thought people said it like that to rhyme.

It actually has nothing to do with the olfactory sense. It is when one melts metal in order to separate impurities and refine or divide it into purer forms. I think it might also be a small bait fish iirc.

But anything goes when shooting for the yuks.

Actually I did know "smelt" in that context, but I didn't think it was a word as a past tense for "smell."
