Are you surprised when people say they’re not into movies?
I’m always kinda taken aback by that. Like how can you not get super excited about all the good ones out there?

i certainly don't agree with that. if you say 'major studios' then i might be a little more sympathetic, though i still wouldn't agree.

No. I don't think so.
I know enough people who aren't much into movies. They might prefer the drama of sports, or the long-form storytelling of television, the interaction of computer games, or reading novels, or running repeatedly head-first into a plate glass window. It takes all sorts.
I think that's why sites such as MovieChat exist... to gather together the people who are unusually enthusiastic about movies. And do all those unusually enthusiastic people all watch and care about the same movies and agree which ones are 'the good ones'? No, they do not.
People having different ideas of a good time comes as no shock to me.
not at all. it might have been surprising 30 or 40 years ago, when movies were still probably the main source of entertainment and evenings out for adults. we're just not in that state anymore.
someone saying they're not into movies now is about as surprising as someone saying they don't care for video games or sports.
it's a big old world and we are all entitled to our preferences.
Yes. Music as well. They don't have to be hardcore into it, but just enjoy doing it.
shareI work with a guy who has no favorite band. He just listens to whatever’s on the radio. Now I find that weird! I don’t think he has ever had a favorite band.
shareThey have no soul.
shareI've never ever had a favourite band. I just don't think there are any that consistently produce good music or at least music that I like.
shareThis guy has probably never bought a record, tape or CD. He could not even name the bands or songs he listens to in the radio.
I’m willing to bet over your lifetime you have bought music from musicians you like.
Not really; if you had asked me just a couple of years ago, I'd probably have told you I wasn't all that much into movies, either.
shareNo because everyone has different hobbies and interests.
shareThere are plenty of people into movies Here's a film buff with decades worth of movie expertise on the topic:
