Have you even gotten into a band because you heard their song from a movie?

For me it was The Wanton Bishops. I heard one of their songs in the movie "Horns" (2013) -- don't watch it, it's bad, and that's when I got into the band.

WHEN I WAS A KID I WOKE UP AT LIKE 1 IN THE MORNING AND WAS FLIPPING THROUGH TV STATIONS...CAME ACROSS THE CREDITS OF SOME UNKNOWN FILM...PLAYING OVER THE CREDITS WAS A HAUNTING SONG THAT STAYED WITH ME...TOOK A FEW YEARS(PRE INTERNET) TO FINALLY DISCOVER THE SONG...RIGHT HERE WAITING BY RICHARD MARX...THE FIRST CASSETTE I EVER BOUGHT...AND STILL TO THIS DAY...RICHARD MARX IS EASILY TOP TEN ALL TIME FOR ME.

Gloria as seen in The Outsiders got me into the music of Van Morrison, especially that song. I probally heard Moondance in American Werewolf in London at about the same time too. Gloria remains one of my all time fave songs!

When I was a kid they used to show Xanadu a lot on HBO, which had a lot of music by the Electric. Light Orchestra. Terrible movie, but I really liked the soundtrack.

Not a fan of ELO, but I didn't know of them until I heard Mr. Blue Sky in the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind trailer.
