Can dogs be racist against people?
Can they? π
shareWe are told that there is no such thing as race and so it follows that there is no such thing as racism.
Told from whom?
shareYou're being baited. When he responds, you'll be accused of being a sock puppet. You should nip it in the bud at this point and spare yourself a lot of wasted time and energy.
shareI've been accused of being the sock puppet of "Intothenight". Don't even know who that is. He must have made an impact on here.
I am a wolf.

Obvious tag team at work.
I do not think so.
shareSerious reply, no bullshit
I suspect that dogs can be racist
I had a small 60 pound female Pit Bull, pure muscle and rage, meanest goddam dog you ever saw, she tore skunks to pieces twice in my garden in Yonkers, she fought a gigantic Mastiff to a bloody standstill and she was especially violent towards black people
She lunged at my Mailman so many times I had to keep her on the other side of the yard or he wouldn't deliver the mail (he was a black dude but not the only black dude this dog wanted a piece of)
This is NO lie
My Vet told me she was likely a 'target dog,' the Bloods and Crips and Latin Kings were all heavily involved in that disgusting dog-fighting game back then and given her sex, size and location where she was rescued she was probably a frequent punching bag for prized dogs and was possibly used as a breeder too
Some people are just scum
She was a fine girl, she had about 10 good years in my grassy yard and cozy home before she fell ill and died
RIP Whiteyπ
Lol well no wonder it was racist with a name like that!
shareYes. I had a cousin who got a German shepherd, and he went nuts every time he saw black people, so the police obviously train them.
shareThere was a movie about this subject: White Dog (1982): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Dog
EDIT: samoanjoes' IMDb link above is about this movie.
Yeah, a messed up movie.
shareYes! My friend has a Japanese akita who is so gentle and loving. But their old next door neighbours when she was a puppy were Asian (middle eastern) and kept throwing rocks at her and jabbing her with sticks through the fence. She does not like brown people, and especially children now as a result.
Unfortunately, you can't explain to animals that people are different. She just associates small brown humans with pain.
I really believe this can happen to an abused dog, I saw it first hand
shareIt's not racist tho'. To be a racist there must be a superiority feeling. That other races are somehow inferior to yours. That dog simply recognising appearance and size, associating those to danger.
Just like if we pass some dangerous looking guys (thugs-like or mafia-like) walking down the street we may feel afraid to them and not stand in their way. That's not racism.
Ah great point! Then I change my answer to no.
