What's your favourite box set?

Looking for something to binge on. Hopefully something I haven't already seen.

Movie or series (or both.

reply

Mad Men (best ending to a tv series ever!).

reply

WHY DO SEXY,RICH GUYS ALWAYS LIKE MAD MEN?🤔

reply

Probably Agatha Christie Poirot Complete Cases Collection. Consistently entertaining with only a few bad episodes and many very good ones.

reply

Breaking Bad or The Sopranos.

reply

Both immense!

reply

Agreed!

Alfred Hitchcock ultimate collection blu ray set
Humphrey Bogart signature dvd set
Elizabeth Taylor legacy dvd set
Bing Crosby silver screen dvd collection
Astaire and Rogers complete dvd collection

reply

Geez… How old are you? Are you the famous Chinese lady of 118 years old?

reply

No, I’m only 101 years old. Now respect your elders, you young punk!

reply

Sorry m’am!!

reply

That’s more like it. Now go to your room and think about what you have done.

reply

Can I go out now?

reply

Yes, you have been a good boy so you may go out. Don’t get into any mischief.

reply

Perry Mason original series. 57-66

reply

Some good suggestions there and a few nice oldies. Thanks.

Mad Men I got bored with after a couple of seasons and gave up watching it and while I usually like Agatha Christie's works, I never could get into Poirot.

reply

Do you have Netflix and do you enjoy ultra-violent and crazy stuff?

reply

I have Netflix and while I do like the weird and crazy stuff mostly, I have gone off ultra-violent things over the last few years. Still open to suggestions if you had something in particular that sounded ok in mind though.

reply

My suggestions are:

Happy!

And

Ash VS evil dead

Also:

Preacher
Fargo
AHS season 2 Asylum
The walking dead S 1-2-3 are exceptionnal

reply

I loved Happy! Watched it several times already.

Also seen all the other shows. AHS Freakshow was my favourite.

reply

We should have coffee one of these days. 👌

reply

Ever seen Banshee? Little known show that would probably be right up your street.

reply

Interesting, I’ll see if I can find it somewhere.

reply

Well worth tracking down. It's a shame more people haven't seen it as it's a brilliant series with some great characters. Never a dull moment. Much violence too.

reply

THE AMAZING ANIMATED POSTERS AND DVD COVERS FOR THE SHOW ACTUALLY CONFUSE MANY POSSIBLE VIEWERS.

reply

I liked the covers.

I LOVE THEM...BUT EVERY PERSON I HAVE EVER DISCUSSED IT WITH WHO WASN'T A FAN SEEMS TO ASSUME IT'S A CARTOON OR SOMETHING ENTIRELY DIFFERENT THAN WHAT IT IS.

reply

I can definitely see that cuz that was my first reaction. What kind of animated show is this?

reply

I THOUGHT THAT FOR SOME TIME.

Have a read of the comments.

reply

I’m sold.

reply

the twilight zone 59-64

Movies - The Lord of the Rings extended editions
TV - Freaks and Geeks the complete series

reply

F&G - good suggestion. I have not rewatched that one yet and it's been many years since I saw it.

Already watched the LOTR movies several times.

reply

The "LOTR" extended edition box sets are my favorite of all time! Because I don't just love the movies themselves, the behind-the-scenes documentaries are cinematic comfort food as well.

But then, I went into the thing a Tolkien Geek, and the whole thing was literally made for people like me. It's like a gift from the universe.
