Do you tip uber drivers
I don't and I'm wondering if that's rude
shareI used Uber and Lyft a few times when I broke my leg, and I tipped. Partly out of sheer gratitude, partly because I did ask for their help with some of my assistive devices, and partly because I understand that a lot of these "gig economy" jobs don't pay enough to live on, unless the tips are good.
My favorite driver was the retirement age guy, who said the money didn't matter, he just liked getting away from his wife.
Yes I do.
shareI've never use UBER but tipping is encouraged here in New York, it's gotten to be a whole status thing, you sort of overtip here and it's expected
You Do Not want to be the cheap bastard that tips any service people less than your Pals because they will bring that incident up again and again.
I've been doing uber for like 2 months off and on, and trust me we like tips. Even if it's a dollar.
shareYes. I want the future Ubers not to ignore my calls
shareI own vehicles.
Does Uber go out into the sticks? I've never checked.
Yes, almost always 20% or higher. I don't like how tipping works in America, but I'm not gonna screw over a person making a living either
One time I got a driver that was high on drugs, though. She arrived like 30 minutes late to pick me up, her speech was slurred, she was swerving in and out of the incoming lane, and took me to the wrong destination and bumped into a post
Luckily, this was at like 5-6 in the morning and there was no traffic around, or else we could have gotten hurt. I ended up just getting off and calling the police on her. Weird thing is she had 4.9 stars :/
