How could I forget "Turn Of A Friendly Card"

reply

It took me about 90 minutes to come up with that list. I bet I've missed a couple.

reply

I always miss the not-so-popular stuff.

reply

Wow Andy! Please tell me you already had that list compiled. 😀

reply

I did not, lol.

reply

Wow! Now that’s quite a feat. I’m much better at release dates of films than albums. Great job.

reply

I’m a total music nerd, lol.

reply

I get the feeling the shorter list would come from albums you don't consider favorites.

reply

I just love music! Funnily enough, I left about 20 albums off that I considered 'ok'.

reply

I don't know how you guys remember the specific years for most of these.

reply

I’m a self confessed music nerd.

reply

Me too, but the release year is usually just a vague approximation in my mind.

reply

I’m ok from 1960-2000. It gets a bit hazy after that.

reply

In addition to Beato, you should check out The Daily Doug and 12tone on YouTube, if you haven't already.

reply

I haven’t, but I’ll see if I can squeeze them in 👍

reply

reply

Eat to the Beat was 1979 (music nerd Andy).

reply

@Andy. Thanks, you're right. I suspect that officially a couple of my selections (e.g. Marianne Faithful) might be officially 1979 even if most of their impacts on charts etc. happened in 1980 and 1981.

reply

These would top the list for me:

The Cure - Seventeen Seconds
Siouxsie and the Banshees - Kaleidoscope
Hank Williams Jr - Habits Old and New

reply

As the resident Deadhead, I am legally obligated to mention

Go to Heaven

reply

Judas Priest - British Steel

reply

Double Fantasy--Not his weakest: what about Walls and Bridges, Sometime in New York City, and Mind Games?
The River
Young Marble Giants: Colossal Youth
X: Los Angeles
Peter Gabriel
Joan Jett Bad Reputation
Rush, 'Permanent Waves'
The Wall-Pink Floyd.

reply

The Wall was 1979 (music geek Andy).

reply

Well it was recorded in '79 and released Nov. 30th, 1979. However most sales and radioplay in the US were in 1980 where it went platinum in March.
