My boy turned 7. We had 14 kids at the party and of all races. I felt like Gordon Bombay.
My week:
The Vanished (2020 Netflix): Kind of a slow burn but works well in the end. Heche was great. I can’t really put into words why but I am always happy to see Thomas Jane. I like to see him maybe even more than Aaron Eckhart. But then again I remind myself that they are both one and the same. Back to the movie: very atmospheric with a nice twist in the end that is Shyamalanesque as can be. Light spoiler: Loved the loop ending. My rating: 7/10
The crew (1994 TV): PVR’d this because of Viggo Mortensen and the cool looking cover. This total cinematic failure actually managed to keep my attention and it was mildly entertaining. 5/10
The missing (2003tv): At the 5 minutes mark I was astounded to see Mr Eckhart! These two movies have more in common than they know! And what were the chances that I’d see them in the same week! As for the movie it’s a solid one it is good performances but not really exciting and I never truly felt any tension. 6.5/10
The spy who dumped me (2018 TV): This was quite a wild ride and I like these 2 actresses but we listened to it in two different evenings and I was a bit confused in the end. Still, a fun “compromise” movie to watch with the wife. My rating: 6/10
Bad trip (2021 Netflix): If, like me, you love Tom Green, Sacha Baron Cohen, the impractical jokers, Jackass and all that kind of stuff, you are in for a treat! I haven’t laughed that hard since a long time. I didn’t want this film to end. I hope they make 4 more before 2024. These guys rock and Haddish was awesome. Now, does anyone knows where I can watch The Eric Andre show? My rating: 8.5/10
Jack and the giant slayer (2013 TV): Watched this with the kids but it failed to keep my full attention and I started doing chores around her house as it played. Not really my cup of tea tonstart with anyway. In Quebec it’s rated 8+ but I regret having my 5 years old watching it. A bit too disgusting those giants plus they bite people’s heads off. My rating: 4.5/10
I’m at episode 13 of Season 3 of Into the badlands. 3 more and I’m officially done with this amazing series and ill be able to do a breakdown.
I’m at episode 17 of the final season of The Big Bang theory. I’ll be truly sad once it’s finally over.
I started The mighty ducks: Game changer on Disney. Watched the first 2 episodes. Although there were a few genuinely good moments, I’m disappointed in the final product. I’ll continue to watch it with my boys but it will take us a while to finish it I think.
Gamera vs Zigra (1971) and Gamera: Super Monster (1980) (Both: Noriaki Yuasa)
Gamera, as every fool knows, is a friend to children everywhere - which only serves to demonstrate that the big turtle-y freak has more patience than I do.
'Gamera, what are you doing? GAMERA, GAMERA!?', 'Gamera, are you dead?', 'Gamera, what's wrong? Why aren't you moving, Gamera?'
Well, kids, if you look closely, you'll notice this other kaiju is sticking a big spike through my belly - but thanks for your slightly misdirected concern.
'Gamera, Gamera, use your fire-breath!'
OK, kid. Useful advice. But this is not my first rodeo...
I'm just saying there would be a lot of barbecued children in 1970s Tokyo if I were him. Gamera is not only a friend to children everywhere, but a bit of a saint. Bless him.
Anyway, some enjoyable stuff in Zigra, even if we have long since reached and passed the diminishing returns phase. But even my high tolerance for Gamera is tested beyond breaking point by Super Monster, which is essentially a slapped-together clipshow of the previous movies. And not even the first time they'd done that. 2/5, 1/5 respectively.
Day of the Dead (George A Romero, 1985)
My least favourite of the original 'Dead' trilogy and the one I've returned to the least over the years - this may only be the second time I've watched it. A bit dialogue-y, which makes Romero's usual social commentary feel a bit one-note at times rather than something that is punctuating and balancing out the action and splattered heads. But I like the charged atmosphere and the more sombre tone, compared to the previous entry. I like that Romero was still finding new angles on the material. I think I'd like it more if Dawn didn't exist, but then I can say the same for almost every zombie movie ever made since it. 4/5
Probably Villeneuve's most elliptical, pick-the-bones-out-of-that movie, but he's a smart filmmaker so never allows it to spiral off into arty abstractions. He keeps it tight. 4/5
Yellow Cat (Adikhan Yerzhanov, 2020)
Dopey ex-con obsessed with Alain Delon in La Samourai meets an equally dopey prostitute and plan together to build a cinema in the Khazak steppes. But they both have the same enemies: the local gangsters and corrupt local police.
Billed as a drama, it's actually much more of a comedy throughout most of its runtime - with some genuinely amusing dialogue and entertaining visual jokes. And it all feels quite light-hearted, which neatly disguises the fact that it's really quite bleak. 3/5
Elevator to the Gallows (Louis Malle, 1958)
I'm hardly the first person to claim the score - by Miles Davis - is far better than the film itself, but the film itself isn't at all bad. It's a decent noir(ish) drama and a nice artefact in that it captures a moment, dripping with 'cool', in French pop culture and prefigures the coming new wave. John the Baptist to Godard's Jesus. Or something. 3/5
The Crazies (George A Romero, 1973)
Kind of Romero does zombies without the actual zombies, and in a way a dry-run for Day of the Dead in that it concentrates squarely on the military response to a problem with a virus in a small town rather than on the inhabitants. But it's, naturally enough, not as accomplished as Day and some of the acting is decidedly shaky. 3/5
Sold to me by Mubi with the word 'Hitchcockian', because - y'know - spies, espionage, &c. But it's not very Hitchcock. Much more a historical drama about ordinary people attempting to do what they believe is the right thing in the face of an oncoming disaster created by Japanese ultra-nationalism. Not slick or action-packed like a Hitchcock.
And I thought it looked kind of ugly too. Very DV. But I got over that quite quickly and got caught up in the story, which I found to be suitably compelling and well-told. And I was ultimately somewhat moved by it. 4/5
Deep (Adirek Wattaleela and four - count 'em - four others, 2021)
Dumb as rocks, this. Medical students in a no-sleep experiment to harvest their precious, um, qratonin. Like the opposite of Flatliners meets the opposite of The Breakfast Club. Or something. Gets a bit of a kicking in the Letterboxd review section, but I quite liked it. I thought it was well-made on a small budget and was in the exact right mood for something this silly and undemanding. 3/5
The Unknown Saint (Alaa Eddine Aljem, 2019)
A career criminal buries his loot before the police can grab him. Years later, he returns to find people have built a shrine over the place where X marks the spot. The set-up feels a bit Sergio Leone with wide shots of fairly barren, Moroccan landscapes.
I'd have perhaps liked the film more if it had centred on that storyline of the crook, but it adds in a few other strands from the nearby village - about a newly-arrived doctor and whatnot - and becomes a comedy about rural life. But in fairness quite a good one with some real chuckles. 3/5
This does quite an exemplary job of recreating 1970s giallos, right down to the dubbing and a Goblinesque score. As a filmmaking exercise, I can see the point - and they nail it. From an audience POV, I struggle to see what the interest might be. I mean, I guess it's an affectionate send-up, but they so closely adhere to the giallo tropes that it feels more like carbon copy than parody. So, well done, you made a mediocre 1970s giallo decades after the fact. 2/5
Thale (Aleksander Nordaas, 2012)
Respect is due, as the production looks great considering it was made for something closer to what I currently have in my back pocket than a proper amount of money to make a movie with. But even at 80 minutes this tale of two cleaners who stumble across a naked woman in a Norwegian cabin who may (or may not) be a supernatural being is thin gruel.
There's rather too much sitting around, and it fails to build the atmosphere that its musical cues suggest it's aiming for. And then it lurches into an attempt at entirely unearned sentimentality at the end. If they'd made it a 20 minute short, they may have had something though. 2/5
Warrior Queen (Chuck Vincent, 1987)
An algorithm recommendation, which only leads me to believe I must've made some bad choices. But not as many bad choices as Donald Pleasence and Sybil Danning did. I only watched it. You were in it.
Sword & Sandal 'epic', it says here. More like tits & togas though. Incompetent trash. And not the fun kind, just the dull kind. 1/5
According to Wikipedia, this was an influence on Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver. Seems like a stretch and a half, that. Yes, I know Scorsese is fond of Ray. Yes, this does feature a taxi driver. Yes, the featured taxi driver is a bit of a troubled, insular soul. But the similarities end there.
Nevertheless, it's a good, solid, evenly-paced film - guess what? Much more in the style of S. Ray than M. Scorsese - about the redemptive power of love. I suppose. Which, y'know, Taxi Driver really isn't.
I will refrain from going on a rant about the preservation status of Ray's films outside of the Apu Trilogy. Or the preservation status of Indian films more generally. Suffice it to say many of them are in a right old state and something should be done. 4/5
----
That was all longer than I imagined. Sorry 'bout that. I'll be more succinct next time round.
Yeah. I like it, hence 4 out of 5. But I agree with you entirely on rewatchability. I guess being the third part of a trilogy, the first of which has basically invented the zombie movie and the second of which has pretty much perfected it, it's just inevitably going to be the moment it falls away a bit.
Hey, sounds like a wild party. How come I wasn't invited?
The spy who dumped me 7/10
Jack and the giant slayer 7/10
I watched:
Soup to Nuts (1930) 6/10
That Uncertain Feeling (1941) 6/10
Good Morning, Vietnam (1987) 7/10
Wild Things (1998) 7/10
Working Girls (1986) 7/10
The Prisoner of Zenda (1952) 5/10
Overcomer (2019) 8/10
Not Quite Hollywood (2008) 8/10
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021) 7/10
Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid (1982) 7/10
And Then There Were None (2015) 7/10
kid 90 (2021) 7/10 Was this a vanity project? Yeah, I think so. But I didn't really care. There is something so cathartic about going back and revisiting youth through diaries and videos. I'm the same age range as Soleil, and this was a real trip to watch. Nostalgia was strong, and that helped me enjoy it more than perhaps someone who didn't experience the era. One thing that stuck with me and that I question all the time as well, is if things actually happen the way we remember them. The narrative here wasn't sure either. Parts of it did feel really manipulative, and it was sad seeing those who are no longer here. At the end of the day it is her story, told by her. It was an interesting, but flawed watch.
A Little Daytime Drama (2021) 4/10 I really wanted to like this one, but I just couldn't really get into it. I like the cast as they are some of my Hallmark go to actors, but they couldn't really save this snoozefest.
Love Stories in Sunflower Valley (2021) 6/10 I think I need a break from Hallmark movies. I just couldn't really appreciate this one. It had all the markers of what I usually enjoy. The leads had chemistry, there was some beautiful scenery, and the script followed the formula to a T. It just didn't grab me. Overall meh from me, and a break from Hallmark movies for a bit.
Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Films of All Time - Vol. 1: Midnight Madness 2020 7.5/10 I'm a sucker for these types of movies. I also am a fan of many of the movies talked about here. They never get to every movie that I want them to talk about, but there is a great variety and some random picks that I haven't seen yet but now want to. I appreciate the variety of people that showed up to talk about the films. I will be watching the others in this series.
Time Warp: The Greatest Cult Films of All-Time - Vol. 2: Horror and Sci-Fi (2020) 6/10 I did not like this one as much as the first one. Perhaps it's because I love horror movies, but I didn't feel that they brought anything new here. Almost all the movies talked about were pretty well known and have been talked about in so many other films like this. That doesn't mean that it wasn't enjoyable, it just didn't hold my attention like the first one did.
Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) 7/10 I had fun watching this. It was ridiculous, flashy, had a love for slow motion action scenes, and a great cast. I didn't mind that the story was lacking some substance. It did drag a bit in the beginning, but it does pick up. There is some fun mindless violence. Great cast of women, and I am so happy to see older women getting some fun roles in Hollywood these days. Can we just take a moment to appreciate the amazing Angela Bassett who was 61 when this was filmed and still kicked ass as well as she did in the 90s. Michelle Yeoh was amazing as always as well.
Also starting watching American Horror Stories. I'm 3 episodes in and I much preferred the Murder House Episodes to The Drive In. I also started Only Murders in the Building. I'm not a huge Steve Martin or Martin Short fan, but so far I'm finding it not too bad.
It's the new series American Horror Stories. They are not season long stories. The first two episodes were a Murder House story, and the third episode was about a Drive-In. I haven't watch anymore yet, but I do plan to continue.
For the original series, I flip flop on which seasons I like. I still think I like Asylum the best. I liked Hotel the first time I watched it, tried to watch it again and I couldn't get more than 3 episodes in.
Kate (2021) - 6/10
Malignant (2021) - 7/10
Mortdecai (2015) - 5/10
Concrete Blondes (2013) - 5/10
I Went Down (1997) - 7/10
High Risk (1995) - 6/10
Mona Lisa (1986) - 8/10
Rewatched:
Battle Royale (2000) - I rewatched this since it had been awhile since I last saw it. My rating for it hasn't changed. 9/10
Boardwalk Empire - I finished rewatching Season 3
And out of the ones you saw I've seen
The Missing (2003) - 6/10
The Spy Who Dumped Me (2018) - 5/10
Hit and Run (2021) - I liked the way the husband finds out more and more about his dead wife. The ending and the premise was not realistic. 6/10
Movies
Don't Breathe (2016) - Like the suspense and the Norman character. I thought there were some plot holes - how the police didn't find the room where the girl was kept. 7/10
The Woman in the Window (2021) - such a big name cast for such a small movie. This has been done before and much better. 6/10
Sound of Metal (2020) - Never heard of this movie until a few days ago. Very good drama and a fine piece of acting by Rix Ahmed. 8/10
Army of the Dead
Fun movie with some weird plot holes but who cares.
It was a zombie movie.
They could have trimmed a few minutes off, it was a bit fat.
I AND THE STUPID BOY (2021) 3 ok i guess.
as long as there have been mammals, there have been males who do ugly things out of ugly emotions.
not new!
always funny to me that people think there's some astonishing new insight in that tech can be used in an ugly way.
WILD TALES (2014) 4.5 this movie is almost pure cinematic joy to me.
almost all of this is a complete blast.
the only reason that's not 5 stars is because that 5th story, about the hit and run, is juuuust a bit drawn out and not quite as glorious as the others.
but leave that aside.
do you like fun? do you enjoy enjoyable things? then this is the movie for you.
also, screw you to mubi, whose site still will not let me watch this movie properly. thankfully it's on hoopla.
HAXAN (1922) 4 absolutely filled with great sights. if you're thinking about watching it, absolutely do it.
but i can't deny i did find it just a bit long and a bit dull in some stretches.
wanna pin that on my demolished attention span and inability to stay focused on something that isn't filled with kicking and punching and explosions? go ahead. it's probably true.
if you're in the same camp, i'd suggest breaking it up into three or four 20-30m viewing sessions.
it's absolutely got great stuff in it. that's undeniable.
RICKY 6 (2000) 3.5 chriqui #15.
she doesn't have much to do here other than play the sexy girlfriend, but she does have one very cool scene where she takes the lit end of a joint into her mouth & blows the smoke into her boyfriend's mouth. that was pretty neat and kinda hot.
this is a surprisingly good 80s recreation of the sort of satanic panic story that was in the air back then. it doesn't quite capture the teenage desperation/angst of that time in the way that something like river's edge does - it feels just a bit surface level, like we never quite dig into who they are and what drove them.
but it's still a cool little film. shame that it seems to be so unavailable through legitimate means.
EXCISION (2012) 4 i love films where the characters are unrepentantly unlikeable.
STILL/BORN (2017) 3.5 i like a lot of films that other people hate, & hate things other people like. no worries. it's a big world, & we're all entitled to our preferences.
but i am baffled - baffled! - by the relatively low rating letterboxd users have collectively assigned to this.
it's really good. has a complete story, a fun, occasionally crazy performance by the lead, a genuinely uncomfortable moment or two.
it's no classic, but it is solidly fine and average. there's nothing wrong with being average! most things are average. by definition!
good movies are good.
THE INNOCENTS (1961) 4 very great, genuinely creepy horror. bona fide unsettling atmosphere and settings and moments. terrific.
STYX (2018) 2 the first 25 minutes or so of this would make for a good psa educating all on why you should never ever go on a boat.
this is a very worthy film on a very worthy topic. fine. granted.
but there was no need for this to be a full feature length. there is very little story here. it would have functioned perfectly as a tidy 25 minute short. at 90 minutes, it is simply a bore.
a worthy bore. a bore with a proper message. but a bore, no matter the intention, is a bore.
GIRL WALKS INTO A BAR (2011) 3.5 i've now watched an emmanuelle chriqui film 16 days in a row. & i'm not stopping for at least a week.
i'm actually enjoying this, mostly.
& not just in a pervy way. even when the movies are bad, they're fun.
i've read enough economics to understand the sunk cost fallacy. i'm not doing this because i've sunk so much time into ogling her that i feel like i can't stop. i'm doing this cuz i want to.
she plays a stripper and has a scene in a club at the beginning that's kinda fun, but her sexiest moment actually comes during the credits, where she does a dance over the closing song. got my motor running, if i'm gonna be honest with you.
who is this director, and how does he get so many pretty famous people in these silly films? the cynical answer would be they all have drug debts with him. there has to be some kind of explanation.
but...honestly, just like women in trouble & venus luxx...this film is so silly, openly goofy and flat out stupid at times that i can't help but love it a little. it has jokes that are so unfunny it actually almost takes on a sort of neil hamburger-esque genius.
so...i'm cheering for this guy and his stupid, cheap, terrible movies that are actually really fun and bizarrely packed with really famous actors.
keep on trucking sebastian guitierrez.
HITCH HIKE (1977) 5 holy cow, this is sleazy trashy italian nirvana.
i don't know why or how i've never seen or heard of this until a message board golden angel tipped me to it, but i am going to watch this a billion times.
DANIEL ISN'T REAL (2019) 4 why are so many people sniffy towards this? it's really good. granted, it's not the most original idea, but i have no problems with the execution.
the only issue i really take is sasha lane. she keeps getting cast in things, so obviously people dig her, but i find her unbelievably offputting and annoying and i ever want to see her in anything.
y'know who's great though? hannah marks! she should have been the main girl. she was great in southbound and she's great here. sexy & cute and charming and fun. please put her in a billion things. i'll watch them.
THEATRE OF TERROR (2019) 1.5 only three people have rated this previously on letterboxd, and no one's blessed it with a review as of yet.
i'd love to be able to burst through the internet wall like the koolaid man or whatever and tell you that this is great, but it's really not the best.
but...y'know, hats off to anyone who tries. whoever did this made a movie. more than i've ever done. & it's got some decent moments here and there. the last story has some fairly slick graphics and editing.
i thought the girl in the hat from the wrap-around was pretty cute.
TEA AND SYMPATHY (1956) 4 despite all their best efforts, the annoying letterboxd users here droning on about patriarchy and toxic masculinity did not turn me against this very good movie.
YOU DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN (2008) 2.5 chriqui #17
i could deal with the awful canadian thrillers and the terrible teen comedies. but sitting through an adam sandler comedy (my first) is definitely a low point.
i wouldn't even feel that bad about watching a sandler comedy - it made me laugh a few times - but it had rob fucking schnieder in it too. so...yeah. this is a valley.
and it's long! why is it 110m long??? there's no need for it to be so long.
but chriqui looks...not quite as freakishly hot as she looked in snow day or after sex, but she looks stupidly hot nevertheless.
and it did have some adolescently funny bits. so...fine.
honestly, if it had been a tidy 90m instead of 110 grinding, dreary, long minutes, i'd feel a lot more warmly about this i'm pretty sure.
THE ECLIPSE (2009) 3.5 this is really quite a cool, nice little movie. mopey, low-key relationship drama with a bit of a supernatural element. it's very minor, but it wafts along in a very agreeable, subtle way, and i ended up digging it a whole lot.
also nicely pushed along by a very cool, melancholic piano score.
a very nice surprise.
I KNEW HER WELL (1965) 4 i really enjoyed the way this completely arsed around and refused to be about anything other than the vaguely defined idea that this pretty vapid but undeniably foxy woman wanted to be famous.
it's pretty neat.
FUTURESPORT (1998) chriqui #18.
i've found something to enjoy in every film i've watched on this stupid marathon i've done of my own free will. i even sorta dug that silly sandler comedy i watched last night.
but that comes crashing to a halt with this deeply, horribly 90s tv movie with dean cain.
she does look cute in her little sports outfit. & very tiny next to all those meatheads. the camera doesn't ogle her enough according to my preferences, but it's the only redeeming thing in this dreary, grey, boring elephant's left testicle of a tv movie.
THE GOOD SISTERS (2009) 2 some fun moments, and the lead actresses are cool and look nice all gothed up.
but this does plod along just a bit too much.
NIGHT TIDE (1961) 3.5 creepy atmosphere, cool mystery. meanders maybe just a touch too much in the middle, but a very neat little gem regardless.
13 (2010) 3 chriqui entry #19.
once again, i feel a bit deceived in that letterboxd has given her relatively high billing in a film where she doesn't appear much.
but she looks delightfully skanky in her few scenes. i appreciated that.
sure seems like this movie should have been better than it turned out to be, doesn't it? it's chock full of droning music and dour men yelling at each other, and gosh it all felt like a bit of a grind.
something of a shame, as it feels like a premise that could deliver something a bit impactful. if it was just a bit lighter, had even a glimmer of morbid humor, it could have had much more bite, i bet.
not that it's terrible. it's not! i certainly wasn't bored. i was into it, wanted to see what happened.
so it's not terrible but also a missed opportunity, let's say.
MARTYRS LANE (2021) 3 good, dutifully and properly made no question. but i'd say this errs on the side of being just a bit too atmospheric, to the point of being lethargic, really.
SCARFACE (1932) 3 my long running indifference to gangster films carries on here.
i just can't make myself be interested in stuff like this.
it just makes all my 'i'm bored and want to do anything other than watch this' neurons light up.
why make her a gay bartender and not show her having filthy bathroom sex with a skanky hookup? wasted opportunity! use your talent properly ffs!!!
for a movie with lots of genuinely funny people in it, this sure isn't all that funny. anna farris is always always always funny. but i'll be arsed if she did one thing that made me laugh.
but it still has some amusing moments, and it definitely captures the vibe of restaurant work. and long's character does a decent job of capturing flailing about in your 20s while everyone passes you by, not that i know anything about that.
but it should have been better.
it does amuse me to see all the letterboxd reviews here clutching their pearls because there are gay jokes in here. extra 1/2 star for giving me that.
THE EVIL DEAD (1981) 5 even if he never did anything else with his life, i would be a sam raimi fan-boy for this movie alone.
JE TU IL ELLE (1974) 3 i don't think i believe anyone who says they enjoy this woman's films.
i'll accept that you like what they mean, or that their existence accomplishes something you admire, maybe?
and i'm a guy who'll inhale every boring mumblecore movie with alacrity.
she's so boring. my god, all she does is bore.
but...
she's pretty cute.
you get to see her naked.
she has very graphic, long unsimulated lesbian sex with an undeniably beautiful young woman.
and it's not 3 hours long.
therefore three stars.
BELLADONNA OF SADNESS (1973) 4 a few weeks back one of my twitter follows said 'Watching the cartoon penis demon movie again' & i was the only person who knew what she was talking about.
weird thing to be proud of probably.
MALIGNANT (2021) 5 for the first hour or so: why is anyone talking about this bland, generic piece of nonsense?
the last half hour: hahahahaha, this is the dumbest and greatest thing i've ever seen in my life.
honestly, i don't know if i have never gone from zero to 100 with a movie like this in my life. i loved it.
next day edit...
i'm changing this to a 5/5.
i can't remember the last time i had so much fun with a movie the way i did with the last 40 minutes of this.
i almost don't want to see it again, because i'm afraid i'll just see holes and flaws and it will taint my beautiful, perfect image.
i want to let this stupid, silly, laughably fantastic film sit in my memory like a perfect jewel for the rest of my life.
SUPER TROOPERS 2 (2019) 2.5 chriqui #21
she has a brief but very fun sorta sex scene that i enjoyed.
only 1/10th of the jokes made me a bit amused, none of them really made me laugh. but it's adolescent and silly and good natured and sorta fun.
would never watch if i wasn't on this chriqui treadmill, and i'll never think of it again, but it went down easily enough.
HELL HOUSE LLC (2015) 4 watched the director cut again. probably a mistake. it adds some worthwhile things, but meanders a bit too much.
Wild tales: I had never heard of it but now it’s high in my list.
Haxan: not a movie I’d watch but is this like the first mockumentary ever?
Excision: 7.5/10
STILL/BORN (2017) 3.5 i like a lot of films that other people hate, & hate things other people like. no worries. it's a big world, & we're all entitled to our preferences.: I actually feel like that too. You know that Stonekeeper’s guessing game? I recently learned that when it’s my turn, people automatically look for low rated movies because they saw a pattern. That makes me think, have you ever seen Pawn Shop chronicles (2013)? It’s one of my favorite movie that gets a lot of hate.
The innocents: Your review got my attention and the imdb rating is high so I watched to trailer. Or tried too. I couldn’t even watch the entire 3 minutes. I stopped at 1:18. Worst trailer ever. 1/10
Hitch hike: I’d sure like to get a lift on this one.
Theatre of terror: not to be mixed up with Theatre of blood, a Great flick.
Zohan: never liked this one. So you never saw happy Gilmore? Could you please watch it? Pretty please?
13: I think I was a little bit less interested then you were. 5/10
Waiting…: 7/10
Have you ever seen Damo and Chiquri: An everlasting love?
Ok seriously, have you seen Saint John of Las Vegas?
"So you never saw happy Gilmore? Could you please watch it? Pretty please?" - i'll do it for you!
" have you ever seen Pawn Shop chronicles (2013)?"
i haven't, but i see that kowalski gave it a 4/5 on letterboxd, and it looks like it's on tubi, so i am going to pencil it in for a weekend watch. probably sunday.
"Ok seriously, have you seen Saint John of Las Vegas?"
i haven't - that's one that i haven't been able to find in the streaming world. but i see it's available to rent on itunes, so maybe i'll watch it tomorrow. i'm on day 27 of my film festival. tonight it's 'the crow: wicket prayer,' which is not a lot of fun so far!
"Have you ever seen Damo and Chiquri: An everlasting love?"
i'd say the more likely movie title is 'damo and chriqui: a permanent restraining order.'
Finishing up Grimm season 1. I can pinpoint the episode where this series went off track, Season 1 episode 17. Just do a simple monster story, stop with the continuing plot, that no one cares about. Unless your Joss Whedon and filming Buffy you'd don't have the writing skills to pull it off.
