Do you watch any late night talk shows?

Mostly a no from me. I've seen a couple of episodes of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Easily the most bearable one for me. What I mean by that is, I have a really LOW cringe threshold

I cannot handle cringe of any kind and these shows have plenty of that. All the awkwardness & celebraties trying to be funny, my body can't handle it. I'm genuinely not exaggerating.

From all the little snippets & YouTube clips I've seen so far, Conan O'Brien is the only who's actually made me laugh. The other ones are mostly unbearable. Especially the 2 Jimmys, Fallon & Kimmel. Colbert was 100 times better & more bearable when he was on Comedy Central's The Colbert Report

The only one that I kept up with & actually watched on a frequent basis was The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

reply

Not anymore. I used to watch the old Late Night with Conan O'Brien show back in my high school days.

reply

No - a long time ago they used to be fun and the guests were entertaining. Now it's just another political outlet and the guests are generally boring.

reply

I didn't watch any of 'em during the Trump era. I'm not American & I don't care for their politics but every single one of 'em were just bashing on Trump got old pretty fast. Both The hosts & the guests. It was like that for 4 freaking years!

Orange man bad, we get it. I'm really glad Trump ain't president anymore. Not for political reasons but I just got so sick of seeing & hearing about him every where I turned.

Even on shows that have nothing to do with politics.

reply

No - too many films and TV shows to binge on.

reply

Not since Johnny left.

reply

Same here. I grew up watching Johnny (once I was old enough to stay up that late). I lost interest once he retired, although now that I think of it, I used to occassionally watch Craig Ferguson. I liked his interaction with Geoff.

reply

Not anymore. Too busy sleeping.

reply

The only one I've watched for years is The Graham Norton Show. Very little politics.

reply

I d only seen some clips of that & it does seem pretty good. The one thing he does better than the others is, he lets his guests tell & finish their stories.

Most, if not all the others usually interrupt the guest & try to cut in with a joke

reply

Yes, that's one of the things that bugs me about a lot of these shows. I tune in to see and hear the guests, not the host.

reply

That's why I like his show too. He let's the guests talk and by having multiple guests on at once they have conversations instead of being interviewed. There have been some awkward moments over the years, (Mickey Rourke and Mark Wahlberg for example) but most of the time it really works.

reply

Not since Letterman left.

Conan got different after the Leno thing, and with the increase of viral things making it to YouTube, I don't have to sit through bad sketches, and awful forced interviews to see the good stuff, it'll find me instead.

reply

No, and I rarely ever did. I'm not a night person.
