Louise Mountbatten, one of his great-aunts, was married to a Swedish king, Gustav VI Adolf.
There are plenty of little known connections between the royal families of Europe.
That's not accidental.
In olden days, Royal families used to send the non heirs to other countries to marry them to other royals. Allowed them to marry within their class and in extreme cases prevent possible coup d'etat.
or that teutonic prince philip's daddy was the deposed king of greece. not a lick of greek blood in 'em.
also, all of prince philip's sisters wed nazis.
still, i liked the old bird. he was tough, had a good serviceable dry wit appropriate to high station. he was way smarter than his daft uncle who specialized in getting british commandos killed, breaking navy ships, or leaving the indian subcontinent in flames, before getting his family killed by attempting to vacation amongst the irish. we won't speak of his great love for 12yo boys.
I have to make one correction though: Philip's father only was a prince of Greece, not a king.
As for Philip's brothers-in-law being Nazis, that is hardly weird considering that they were Germans in that era.
But it was lucky for Philip that he was allowed to come to the UK instead and not get involved in that ideology.
