Why did IMDB get rid of their forums?

I know it happened a few years ago, but I still haven't heard a reason. They didn't want people to be offended?

What was the profit incentive? I would have monetized the f*ck out of those forums. Talk about a highly targeted audience. It was the main reason I visited the site.

Thoughts?

Imdb couldn't handle honesty and the truth when it came to piece of shit movies like Ghostbusters 2016.

To all replies, they sounded great. I need to throw another factors to imdb getting of forms. In the past, we had child stars on disney channel, there were little girls posting there and other undesirable pedos keep luring them to have what pedos wanted. I told imdb, but they told me thank you for alert them. I guess they don't be liable for crimes.

At least they were polite to you. A few months ago, a user posted a message asking for an explanation of a bizarre reason given for his trivia contributions being rejected. I replied that I couldn't answer the question but I wanted him to know it wasn't just him, the same thing was happening to me, and I was interesting in finding out as well. An IMDB admin promptly jumped all over me, saying that if I couldn't answer the OP's question I should STFU and stay out of it. What a bunch of jackasses.
