I Am Legend.
Das Boot is great. I thought the director's cut was as good as it gets, but I discovered that there is an even longer version.
*1981 unreleased version (209 minutes)
*1981 original theatrical cut (149 minutes)
*1984 BBC miniseries (300 minutes)
*1997 "Director's Cut" (208 minutes)
*2004 "The Original Uncut Version" (293 minutes) – miniseries minus episode-opening flashback scenes
The last one listed, https://www.amazon.com/Das-Boot-Original-Uncut-Version/dp/B0001XAOLQ - I bought many years ago but have long since sold off all my DVDs, so it's not fresh in my mind. One memory is that we see Françoise, the girlfriend of Ullman.
I haven't seen Das Boot

I know that a lot of people hate the directors cut but I enjoy it.
Star Trek the Motion Picture.
shareI just received the Blu-ray of Blade Runner: The Final Cut (2007) from Amazon which I ordered yesterday.
I have yet to watch it, so I'll have to get back to you regarding whether or not I think it's a "Best Director's Cut" movie.
I first saw Blade Runner on the big silver screen when it was released back in 1982, a film which I liked a great deal.
In fact, I really didn't mind Harrison Ford's voiceover, something he's taken a lot of grief for.
I never got around to watching the 1992 "Directors Cut", which, as I understand, Ridley Scott really didn't have full artistic control over.
Thus, I gather that this 2007 "Final Cut" is in reality the definitive director's cut of the film.
Oh yeah, this was a "two films in one package" purchase as it also included the Blu-ray of Blade Runner 2049 on a separate disc.
I have yet to see this film as well, so I'm looking forward to watching both films.
Hopefully, it'll be as good as the first film, but if not, that'll be OK, since this two film package only cost $14.99 plus tax, a price I was more than willing to spend on the first film alone.
Thus I feel that BR 2049 is kind of like a freebee.
I would love to see a directors cut of The Devils (1971).
