Movie seen months ago, forgot the name??? Like invasion USA, NYC neighborhood gets invaded?

Started out with a girl and boyfriend emerging from a subway station.
War is breaking out, and her boyfriend is shot and killed.
She walks through the city and chaos is descending.
Violent scene after violent scene.
The bad guys are these soldiers dressed all in black with machine guns just gunning people down.
There are parts I don't remember well, which is why I want to look it up and see it again.
She takes refuge in a building and the person in there thinks she is trying to rob him.
She finally hooks up with this old soldier ... who protects her, and they try to make it to the meet up point so the Army can pick them up and go to safety.
There are gangs that they get mixed up with in a laundry, and they send then to a church
to get guns.
She is trying to get to her mother, but she ends up with her drug-addicted sister.
Does this run any bells?
It was actually a pretty good action movie.
I think the name of the movie was the name of the neighborhood, or the street that she lived on.
It was a little like that movie "Red Dawn", but in an urban setting.
Can't believe this is so hazy.

This sounds familiar. Im thinking something like Escape From New York . Along those lines at least. I've not seen it fir years, I don't quite remember.

Try posting this in I Need To Know.

reply

Thanks, did that.

I thought EFNY too , then Precinct 13

When was this movie made roughly?

reply

No, this took place in a regular more or less contemporary world. It was not science fiction. It was a little like that movie "Red Dawn", but in an urban setting.

reply

I think probably in the last 5 years ... maybe 10?

reply

Don't know but I suggest voting for movies on IMDb after you watch them so that this rmdiesnt happen. It's helped me many times.

"I think the name of the movie was the name of the neighborhood"

That's funny because several of your descriptions sound like parts of Cloverfield (which is a street name), if you miss the short monster scenes.

reply

But no monsters. Soldiers that looked like Ninjas all dressed in black and carrying machine guns shooting civilians.

Asian Babes Vol. VIII (possibly).

Although it’s a stand alone story, I highly recommend that the rest if the series is throughly researched.

Think the one you're after is...Bushwick.

reply

I concur. It's Bushwick.
When a U.S. based military force invades their Brooklyn neighborhood, 20-year-old Lucy and war veteran Stupe must depend on each other to survive.

Thanks, you nailed it ... that is exactly right, thank you.
