Are you one of those “can’t stand animals in captivity” people?
So you’ll never visit a zoo or marine park?
shareSo you’ll never visit a zoo or marine park?
shareNo.
shareI believe in freedom, even for animals, until I need to eat one.
shareNo, zoos are humanitarians
It’s the circus and traveling shows that brutalize animals
There's not really an exclusion. It depends on the type of zoo if they need to lock in animals. Greylag goose for example can come and go as they please, but mostly come back anyway to their respective research stations and zoos.
shareI am not, although I'm a strong believer in treating animals with respect and dignity, which includes having them in a habitat that is very much like their natural one. I can't stand when I see animals in small, tightly enclosed spaces where they look like prisoners. (I've been to a zoo like that, which thankfully was forcefully shut down later, and I remember cringing.)
shareTotally, I can't stand my wife in the house all the time!
shareDepends. Killer whale in a tank? Cruel as fuck. Same with elephants in the circus, its pretty depressing. If these animals can't be released back into the wild, they should live out their lives in a sanctuary, not being gawked at by humans. A good example of what I'm talking about is this.

not really. i don't know enough about any of that stuff to have a firm opinion about it one way or the other. i am a peter-singer inspired vegetarian, and definitely am opposed to most kinds of animal agriculture, but i don't think it's clear that zoos are bad.
