Is there an English slang term for Laptop computers?

I always enjoy using the quaint English terms in conversation like Tele and such. If you do have one for laptops, I’m going to throw out a guess that it’s Lapper. And if it isn’t, I’ll implore all you British Moviechat members to get that in circulation. I look forward to the day when I can say something like “I didn’t receive your email because my lapper has gone all fuzzles and foozzles, mate.

And feel free to use fuzzles and foozzles as an alternative to Haywire or Crazy.

You’re welcome.

“MO-bile computer” perhaps? Except that is kind of long for a nickname. Round my parts, folks call it their PC or Mac.

Maybe Mo-Co?

reply

I'm going to start calling it a lappie.

Now that's something like! You're a perfect brick, Andy.

'puter.

ipad , or other tablet
= "Fondleslab"

reply

Lol. I'd be interested in knowing how that was derived.

reply

I once called mine " You Stupid Piece of Shit"? Does that count?

reply

Well, it's not very British but it will do nicely over here in the States.

Across the pond?

reply

I use that phrase all the time. I love it!

Tally ho! 👀

I don't know but I'm hoping to get one, next Crimbo.
