Note to Hollywood

You know, the purpose of a gun is so that you can protect yourself or do damage from a distance. If every single time you have a gun trained on someone you get close enough to be disarmed by them, you’re missing the point of the gun and might as well just be carrying a hammer.

But then how will the protagonist come out alive?

reply

It also applies to when the good guy, sorry good person, gets the drop on the baddie before the climax and the plot needs the hero to beat insurmountable odds to save the day. I guess most movies would be about 20 minutes then.

reply

In my extensive experience with villains they usually take several minutes to explain their entire scheme before shooting
That's when you pounce on them!

reply

I prefer to wait until theyve left the room and begun the uneccasarily slow dipping mechanism,
then slip bonds and slope off
its less confrontational :)

reply

I'm thinking Bond in Goldfinger with the laser beam aimed at his stuff😳

reply

I can only assume 00 agents go through some sort of Houdini or 'Penn and Teller' training module before being put into the field

reply

By firing 14 bullets from a six shooter.

reply

Ha!
I always count the shots, it's a pretty common movie mistake

reply

Me too. The other math mistake that drives me nuts is when 12 bad guys ride in and 6 get shot off theirs horses and then 9 ride away.

reply

Not everyone that got shot dies.

reply

It happens too fast for any of the gunshot victims to remount.

reply

I have a license to carry a hammer so when someone is within three feet of me, I can defend myself.

reply

You might be surprised to know it’s effect range is 21’. 😀

Damn! I remember that song Word Up. Didn’t know the artist though. Mentally, I associate that song with the rise of what I consider the crappiest genre of music ever.

reply

Cameo was the original artist. This was a cover (Informative Andy).

reply

One of, if not THE worst movie cliches' of all time!
