What’s your favourite film franchise?

For me it’s Rocky. I saw Creed recently (which I thought was fantastic) and it made me think how happy it makes me every time there is a new instalment in this long running series of films, and how superior that film is to most franchises on their seventh instalment. Perhaps it’s because the star has always been so heavily involved in all aspects of filming (acting, producing, writing and even direction) but these films always feel genuine and heartfelt to me. Even the lesser instalments (4 and 5 specifically) are entertaining and stand up to most other franchises. The funny thing is I’m not even a fan of boxing, but I adore the character of Rocky and will inevitably be cheering from my seat at the end of each film.

Tricky. There's no franchise I can think of where I loved every single one. But for consistency in standard taken as a whole and averaged out, Bond's definitely up there. I also love the Basil Rathbone/Nigel Bruce Sherlock Holmes movies. And - as a Brit of a 'certain age' - I confess I love the Carry Ons!

Evil Dead, maybe. Thing is I love the first one, not so much the second, really don't like the third, and love the reboot (I also liked the TV series).
