Are there any actual moderators doing their job on this sub? I come here to discuss movies and tv but instead, it's full of moron Trump supporters spreading bullshit conspiracies about Biden. This was a good forum but it's turning into 4Chan because of these idiots.
shareGeneral is not for political discussion, so if you report that stuff, theoretically it could be removed. That being said, there probably are not a lot of mods, and you may be better off just ignoring people who refuse to follow that rule.

It’s been my experience that the mods do a pretty good job here and it’s reasonably easy to avoid the political subjects if they bother you.
Regardless of the platform, the internet will always be a tool for people to express opinions loudly that they might otherwise keep quiet about in their day to day lives. No amount of moderating will change that. It wouldn’t be easy to remain impartial and trawl through the endless threads and comments here to ensure people are sticking to the rules. I think they do pretty well considering their limited resources.

While I agree with you to a certain extent brux, those people who have different political opinions to you or I wouldn’t see it that way. To them, they are merely expressing an opinion that they may believe is unpopular, which may account for the more abrasive way they phrase it.
To silence people who we don’t agree with is dangerous to me. Ignoring opposing viewpoints doesn’t make them go away.
But yes, a bit more civility would be nice at times.

I think you are basically saying that pure hate and criminality are a valid point of view that ought to be respected, and I simply disagree. shareActually that’s not what I’m saying at all. I was talking in context of the original post complaining about the moderators inaction. From a purely anecdotal perspective, I myself have had many heated discussions with people I disagree with politically. Much of it has descended into petty name calling, but I understand I have a hand in that and I know it’s not the moderators job to get involved in my crap or censor opinions I don’t agree with. In the instances where I have been actually confronted by hate speech and threats, the mods jumped on it right away and took swift action. So for me they are doing a good job and I have no complaints about the way the forum is operated.

I understand that sometimes the people here can make the site less fun, but that isn't the sites fault. Unless someone is actually going against the terms of service, there isn't too much the mods can do.
All the movie forums are shit really. So there aren't many places to go. I don't buy it though, I am someone who likes to try and make things better which is why I wouldn't be a mod here because I don't think there is any interest in making it better.
I do think that having an attitude of just seeing it all as rosy is not right either. So I speak out regardless.
I'm not saying that you need to be a mod, I'm just saying that you keep shit talking the site.
I have my issues with some of the people here, and I've taken a few breaks when I get too angry. If there are certain topics and conversations that set you off, try avoiding them.
