Songs you associate with a Film or TV show

What music do you immediately associate with a specific movie, tv show or scene

I heard Kenny Loggins' Danger Zone the other day and besides having to resist the urge to drive way too fast I thought of Top Gun

What about you?

A Thousand Miles by Vanesa Carlton. It's really the theme song to White Chicks.

Here's a few obvious ones:

Eye of the Tiger - Rocky III
Meet me Halfway - Over the Top (Kenny Loggins entry number 3 in this thread)
Don't You Forget About Me - The Breakfast Club
Big Empty - The Crow
Don't You Remember You Told Me You Loved Me Baby - Tommy Boy
You're the Best Around - The Karate Kid (almost forgot that one!)

Great!
The Karate Kid one is so awesomely cheesy it's a classic😃

Come to think of it, Glory of Love from Karate Kid II is also a pretty recognizable pairing.

reply

Damn good one...Pretty corny but it does stick in your head!

I don't think anyone can hear this song and not think of Dawsons Creek. https://youtu.be/8iagmMy7JEE Yuck...

"Whoomp! There It Is" by Tag Team, and the mailroom scene from Elf (2003):

If someone says Danger Zone to me now, all I can think of is the show Archer!

Under Your Spell by Desire —> Drive
Careless Whisper by Wham —> Deadpool
Duelling Banjos instrumental —> Deliverance
Power of Love by Huey Lewis and the News —> Back to the Future
Kiss from a Rose by Seal —> Batman Forever

So many good songs throughout the Supernatural seasons, for example AC/DC - Highway to Hell, Blue Öyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper and Kansas - Carry On Wayward Son as a very limited example.

Queen’s Show Must go on used in Moulin Rouge

....and Bruno Mars’ Uptown Funk always now reminds me of ..... Downton Abbey .... due to their spoof!

Lots of those already mentioned would be on my list too.
