I'm pretty sure that's 'plugging in the lamp in a puddle' style

Not uncommon for little boys todayšŸ™„

Iā€™m just not down with the kids enough to know what itā€™s called.

Sounds like Hank Hill there! šŸ˜€

Funnily enough, although I know who you mean, Iā€™ve not watched it (thereā€™s only so many hours in the day).

ā€œThe finger into the light socketā€ style!

Hi Wan King! In that constant state of funk since my husband died in June. My house is a mess, Iā€™m a mess, but the odd thing is I donā€™t care anymore. I know I need to snap out of it and get this house ready to sell, but my ā€œgumptionā€ has left me. I keep telling myself ā€œThis too...will pass.ā€

Now to the guy who has had to put his wanderlust on hold...blimey! How ya doing? New strain of Covid popping up in jolly old England is going to constrain you further. Keep well, please!

Iā€™m really sorry about this massive loss in your life. I wish I could say something that will make it all better, but only time will hopefully lessen the pain gradually.

Where are you thinking of moving to?

Btw, we managed to dig an escape tunnel from Kingā€™s Towers and we flew to Dubai just before the current lockdown hit the UK. Weā€™re here for 3 weeks šŸ–šŸ»

LOL!šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£ ā€œ... we managed to dig an escape tunnel from Kingā€™s Towers...ā€ Are you serious? You are aware a new strain of Covid has been located in England. You may be in Dubai longer as they may not permit you re-entry into your homeland. With my life on hold you still owe me that trip by train...The Orient Express type. Iā€™m free so letā€™s git her done! I can dream canā€™t I? šŸ˜“

Iā€™ve not spent Christmas or New Year in England in 35 years - we got out just in time. Returning shouldnā€™t be a problem.

All viruses mutate; normally they become more infectious, but get gradually weaker, so Iā€™m not too worried (no doubt the media is having a field day).

Donā€™t forget, next time Iā€™m over your way I promised t bring some proper tea and crumpets (yum!).

Finally, come on back to GD, weā€™re more fun than the Politics board.

Hey Sweet Cakes,

How ya doinā€™? Iā€™m just floundering not knowing which way to turn. Itā€™s been one step forward...three back. As I wrote prior my husband died in June, the same week tropical storm Christable came to visit. Problem with some guests visiting...they leave a mess afterwards. Especially those who werenā€™t invited! After leaving she left behind my front porch screening in shreds. Not too bad when you think of others having much more taken from them after a natural disaster.

I couldnā€™t get anyone to re-screen until November. The same crew who were here to repair a major toilet leak which rotted out the subfloor, had to rebuild then lay a new floor, re-screened the porch. I wrote the check and left for Florida. My daughter was still here so she stayed to take care of my Yorkie. A few days later we had another unwanted visiter...hurricane Zeta! Weā€™ve lived through many Cat 1 storms, 75-85 mph winds. I was resigned to losing my screening again which I did. Just paid $900 the week before! I was glued to the weather channel and getting updates from my daughter. No one was that concerned. TWC said Zeta would make landfall with around 75 mph winds.

Funny thing happened on the way to the fair! Zeta decided to play the mischievous devil. Right before landfall she increased to almost a Cat 3! My house is across the street from the Gulf of Mexico. The last two calls from my daughter had her screaming! Our area wasnā€™t getting just 70 mph winds. It was getting 122 mph gusts with sustained at 110! Sheā€™s screaming the house was shaking, objects were hitting the house and she heard something being ripped off the house! She & the dog ran to shelter inside the interior pantry. Power was lost. When she emerged from the pantry with only a flashlight, she could see the rain pouring into the house through the glass insert on the door, the glass side panels and the glass transom. She did all she could to soak up the water, using every towel & blanket. It was a lost cause!

To continue, thank God our new neighbors had a whole house Generac generator! They took in my daughter & furbaby for 5 days. From what they described when looking out the front windows we had the Gulf half way up our property due to storm surge. When I returned from Florida I noticed boats in the road, traffic lights had been ripped from their cables, parts of siding & roofs gone, road signs crumpled like paper, etc.

Oh, the sound my daughter heard? Part of my metal roof was peeled back like a tuna can! My front porch looked like a haunted house with parts of the screening flapping in the wind. My 3 ceiling fans had lost their blades after being spun around with such force they tilted and gauged the ceiling. It was rather surreal and I was numb.

It's called "I lost my hair pick"
Also, I don't know when it started but in the late 90s guys started NOT comb their hair. Their hair was all over the place.
