Corona just keeps giving 😩

Jesus Christ! It was announced on Saturday that there was a stronger covid strain in Britain.... now today they are telling us that there is also ANOTHER one from South Africa, present in England, which is even more contagious than the one from Saturday. Ffs.

All viruses mutate. Normally, they become more infectious, but less severe. The media loves to hype things up.

reply

Yeah. I usually stay away of commenting on news stories, but I've been saying similar.

And I will put out a caveat that I am 100% in support of staying home, wearing masks, keeping distant, washing hands, and not having parties over Christmas or until the virus is under control. But....I don't really understand the point of all this fear mongering. It's not helping to make people take this seriously.

reply

Yeah, I don't pay too much attention to the news anymore. This was direct from the government press conference. The link was just the first article I found.

Stay safe πŸŽ…πŸ˜·

As frustrating as this new strain news is to hear, at least it's not more deadly.

reply

True! Heck! It might even be LESS deadly and LESS likely to cause severe damage to the human body.

1-2 years from now, Covid may be just as infectionous as the common cold or allergies. Which means our troubles are over!

reply

That's easy for you to say if you're still hiding out over in the wonderous utopia known as the Middle East. I notice you ditched England right before these new strains popped up. Are you working with the Chinese?

reply

I return in January. I was just lucky.

reply

So basically, this is the second variant where the virus has mutated to become more contagious than the previous one.

I think it's time to start wearing a full contagion body suit. 😷

H?

reply

As long as this strain is LESS severe and less people die or suffer serious issues.

reply

Naah ... I think "F" might be better in this case
