genuinely decent people from Hollywood?

With all the news now about how Hollywood is full of creeps, perverts, sleazeballs, abusers, womanizers, narcissists, egomaniacs, and overall selfish scumbags. Who strikes you as a genuinely decent dude (or gal) from tinsel town?

Now keep in mind, I'm not saying these people are necessarily flawless per say, nor am I saying they should be held up on a pedestal. This is just to list a couple people that you believe to be largely free of the aforementioned sins that commonly plague big league Hollywood players.

Here's mine:

Hugh Jackman
Steve Buscemi
Francis Ford Coppola
Robert Downey Jr.
Kevin Smith

P.S. please don't just pick ones that appear "nice", pick ones that have done something that would make you believe that they are a legitimately decent bloke

Any thoughts?

J.K Simmons
Joseph Gordon Levitt
Sam Rockwell
Aubrey Plaza
Alice Eve
Anya Taylor Joy

Gary Sinise
Larry the Cable Guy

I'll second Gary Sinise

michael j fox

reply

Yeah, but he's a slacker.

reply

1. Brendan Fraser
2. Jason Scott Lee
3. Megan Follows
4. Tom Welling seems cool
5. Teri Hatcher

reply

Hatcher? If you believe Eva Longoria she is quite the opposite. Apparently it took a dressing down from Felicity Huffman for her to stop being a mean bitch to Eva on a daily basis.

reply

Patton Oswalt gave a stranver dying from keto acidosis (sp?) 25k to get him surgery.

I may have the details wrong but I know he gave a guy 25k to save his life.

So good dude Patton is.

Someone who, after having attained a certain level of success in Hollywood, have continued to treat those around them with kindness and respect.

I haven't heard too many stories of ACTORS having behaved immorally to get where they're currently at. Directors and producers maybe, but most actors have to resort to just working their way up and wishing for the best like how the rest of us do at any job. With actors, the ones that are assholes usually show their true colors AFTER they become famous, not before. Marlon Brando was a perfect example of this.

The ones who saved the remaining children from further sexual assaults in the Children of God cult.

Oh wait... do we have any celebrities like that??

I guess it takes special people to turn your head to injustices against children.

reply

Yeah, for all the talk of women being treated oh so terribly by pervy producers like Harvey Weinstein and Brett Ratner, the rampant sexual abuse of children is something I find personally much more disgusting. With women, many of them were at least able to resist and escape the hands of those said producers, whereas children are physically and emotionally vulnerable on a whole different level. Some women even willingly choose to let themselves be taken advantage of in the hopes of being given a leg up (no pun intended) in the industry. Either way, women are not always pure, innocent victims, children are.

reply

Hollywood let those kids get continually violated on a daily, weekly, or yearly basis. For a lifetime. Can only pray they survive the PTSD and not OD.

How someone can stand on stage and accept an award while turning their head to children being forced into sex is beyond me.

Stand up for "Innocents" who have no voice for themselves. Get it??

reply

I'm sure it's already been said, but Keanu Reeves, hands down.

reply

Yeah, right. Fuck the other victims, and just go back to work.

reply

I like your moxy, but don't understand your intent.

reply

I just disagree with you, no offense. But going by the OP description of those remaining humble after fame, then maybe Keanu applies. ??

reply

How is that disagreeing with me?

reply

Being nice and being a humanitarian can be separate things.

I don't see Keanu as compassionate at all, just a money making machine, but maybe he can hang with locals which would make him "humble" and nice.

Decent, compassionate, kind people stop sexual abuse to victims, and help prosecute assailants.

Money people just go back to work.

reply

I'd say we are all complacent, no matter how much money we have. I consider myself a nice guy, but do I go out of my way to help out or stop atrocities, no. But I am for sure considerate and nice. I have legit given the shirt of my back to someone before. But expecting celebs to be Saint is redonk. But Keanu , from what I hear is a angel amongst mortals.

You've never been raped as a child without hope for justice, otherwise you might feel differently.
