I went to the cinema last night for the first time in 6 months.

Only 4 people sat in there. Afterwards, walking through the deserted Leisure Complex (BH2, ‘Sunny’ Bournemouth https://www.bournemouth.co.uk/things-to-do/bh2-leisure-complex-p2551893), it felt like something out of 28 Days Later.

I saw New Mutants - very disappointing.

It really does feel like we're living inside a sci-fi movie lately. Its funny what we used to think of as silly nonsense science fiction, now has kind of become reality.

reply

I agree

reply

When I left, mine was the only car in the underground car park - spooky.

reply

You ran home?

reply

No, just sauntered to the underground car park.

reply

I've heard negative news about the New Mutants
We have a similar chain in the US called The Alamo...they have about 10
locations, and a good food and a great beer menu while you watch

Fun times...they'll be back👍

reply

Tenet is next on the list 👍

reply

Good job, idiot! Enjoy dying of the plague.

reply

Being in a huge room with four people.

reply

Jk

Prophecy: You will catch Covid19 right through your face bikini.

reply

I was kidding. I never stopped going to the theater unless they weren’t open.

reply

Oh sorry. Thought you were a serious mask-or-death zealot. When I see accusations of "murder" due to getting back to free behavior, I like to predict that person's death by Covid for them. The machine needs to get rolling again and the freak out doesn't help.

Me neither. I'm eating were they'll let me and awaiting the opening of theaters.

reply

I’m not a mask freak nor am I personally worried about Covid killing me. I wear a mask when required just so I don’t have to get into a pointless argument in public over it.

I’ve been dining out and watching movies as long as they were able to be open. I love doing both and won’t stop unless they are closed.

reply

There were 4 people sat in a room the size of an Olympic swimming pool, so unlikely on this occasion.

reply

I wasn't prophesying your contraction. I was addressing ODB82 (turns out he was faking his virus spazz). When people get screechy over behavior I like to try turning their fear back on them with a friendly prediction of death for them.

reply

That's a bit uncalled for, no?

reply

I nearly died of boredom, so he was half right.

reply

Geezzzz!

reply

Luckily, no Covid deaths reported in ‘Sunny’ Bournemouth yet.

Hello?...HELLO!

Is it me you’re looking for? Lol.

reply

What was disappointing about the movie ? I didn’t expect much

reply

I have the complete run of New Mutants comics, so was genuinely interested in seeing this. Unfortunately, it dragged a little bit; it wasn’t awful, just lacklustre and ultimately boring.

reply

I might check out Tenent today . I have a craving for movie snacks

reply

Were your expectations low for New Mutants? I was sorta hoping that my extremely low expectation for the film night make it palatable.

Still no theaters other than drive ins open here in the CA desert.

reply

Alas.

I grabbed NM off the 7-11 rack from the start but quit sometime after Warlock (I really hated Seinkevich's art and Warlock was like a doodle). Picked them back up around Cable but stopped again years later. Some stuff to like. It is too bad that they used Cable in Deadpool before NM.

I only quit picking up comics 3 or 4 years ago (along with a 7 year pause in the 90s)

reply

I’m a completist and end up persevering with the crap stuff too.

reply

Were the 4 people there before New Mutants started or was that who was left after they saw it and walked out?

reply

Well two of them were me and a friend. The other two were sat miles away in the back row.

reply

Oh, I thought you guys use kilometres.

reply

No way! Imperial measurements in the UK.

reply

Bah. You still drive on the wrong side of the road.

reply

Depends who's driving 😜
