I never really liked their music except for one song but I also don’t have anything against them.

reply

Not sure exactly but I think they have a ton of good songs!

I like U2, have all their albums and have seen them a few times, but Bono can come across as a knob.

reply

Really average musically. Lead singer is a SJW douche as well as being an attention whore. Also hypocritical they have been dodging taxes for ages. And just really over rated. Not my thing.

Hate requires passion and energy though, I would say I am more bored and indifferent.

They also changed their sound a lot which tends to piss off the older fans of a band without necessarily attracting newer ones.

I like their 80's and early 90's music and own most of their albums but I'm not a fan of opinionated pop stars or movie stars, I have zero interest in their world views, and don't like it when they use their success as a platform to spout them.

reply

I think it's mostly because of Bono.

reply

I was at one their gigs and as it fell silent all you could hear was Bono slowly clapping. He goes up to the mic and says, “Every time I clap my hands, a child dies in Africa.” Straight away, someone in the audience shouts back, “Well stop bloody clapping then.”

reply

Does it make me a bad person that I laughed at this?

reply

I laughed too😕
Bono can come across as a tool

reply

That's pretty funny, even if it's probably not what he meant.

reply

I think most of the haters secretly like one or two of their songs.

reply

I think the haters look for every opportunity to espouse their hatred.
So an artist has a platform to further social progress and they should shut up? Tell Paul Revere to stay off that damn horse.
