I want to quit my job

I feel so stuck in life. I have worked for the same place for 20 years now. I am 39 years old. In January I finally finished my Bachelors Degree (Information Technology Management) and in spite of that I feel like I can't find another job. Like I'm cut out for nothing.

Congratulations on finishing your Bachelors! That's a big accomplishment. Things are tough right now because of the pandemic. Hopefully they will get better. Don't give up hope!

I quit quite a few jobs in my time for all the good it did me.

Can your degree help you where your presently employed? Possibly a in house move?

reply

congrats. a bad time for job hunting. although in your field there are always opportunities.

Are you really boohooing about getting your Bachelors? You had the drive and ambition to accomplish that. You’re ahead of a lot of people. I think you’ll pull through.

reply

Its a tough time for everyone.. I loved my job but its gone now.. Hang in there.

I hate my job also, i'm part time, but i'm building a home studio and going to get a bigger apartment maybe.. but I am gonna just collect disability and take piano lessons once I get the crap I want.

I am really conflicted though because I didn't work for 6 years straight and racked up a bunch of college debt (never graduated)and I know I could do a tech bootcamp and get a good job or even easier become a truck driver. I think I will eventually but I want to learn piano and flirt the the ladies for right now. I'm 41.

Sounds like a solid plan buddy👍
Take some time off from taking time off and make some plans to make some plans

I'm ordering a new fridge soon, should I save you the box😁

reply

hopefully, no I won't need it.

Just tough it out until you have something better lined up. Also, with a new degree you would be in a good position for negotiating a raise, which will then put you into an even better spot when considering other job offers.

I'm not too far behind 39, and after working in the same field for over a decade, I'm taking steps to switch over to something more up my alley.
