I like James Dean a little more than you do. I thought he was wonderful in Giant. I suppose he is famous for some acting excesses but I excuse him for his youth.
Yeah it gets dull and tasteless very quickly.
I didn't exist during James Dean's time but when I did watch one of his films for the first time I remembered being disappointed because I was expecting to see this legend and all he did was rant and rave. Not that it hurts his career any.
