I enjoyed it enough at the time because there was something exciting about seeing a Star Wars movie in the theater. But it wasn't long after that I realized it's just a bad movie that doesn't capture the magic of the OT. Not as bad as some in the franchise, but still not good.

No, not massively. I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be, but it's also far from a great film. I think a lot of people didn't like it because it was too much of a kids movie and people wanted a more adult type or PG-13 film. I think it has lots of problems and relies way too much on special effects, but the story was good and I always respected how George tried to do something different and expand the universe.

I'm sorry, but The Phantom Menace was an embarrassment. Had George Lucas been able to produce this as he had wanted to back in 1977, there would have been no sequels.

My only problem with Return of the Jedi were the Ewoks. It has probably my favorite scene in a Star Wars movie when Luke basically tells the emperor he can go f himself.
