A combination of the movies and the person.

Cassavetes? That's an interesting choice. Most of his stuff is pretty serious.

I was going to say Steve Coogan but it turns out he never directed anything. Produced the things I thought he directed.

So I'll throw in Blake Edwards, Mike Judge, Terry Gilliam, and Terry Jones (who just died this Jan).
