The book or the movie?

Hollywood sometimes makes movies that are based on books. (No, really, it's true.)

Do you prefer to read the book and then see the movie, or do you prefer to see the movie first and then read the book?

Personally, I'm always disappointed in the movie if I've read the book first, but I still enjoy the book if I've seen the movie first.

Most of the time, I go with the book. I will understand some changes though.

Most good films are based on books.

Boffe.

the book is always the fuller, more well-developed & interesting story

seeing the film is like reading the cliff notes. ruins the suspense & intrigue of the book.

the other way, you get to enjoy seeing a team render a work you already admire, or at least
have enough interest in to see the film after.

i was lucky enough to have read the godfather before seeing the films. that was the
rarest of times where the film was a huge upgrade on the novel, though puzo
did give us those characters.

I don't know, it's been pretty variable for me. Often I didn't know it was based on a book, or a book based on the script was written. Sometimes I read the book long before the movie came out. Sadly, in most cases, the book was superior to the film; but not always. Sometimes the movie was better than the book! It just depends on the film and the book it relates to. In some cases, both the movie and the book sucked, so again, it's a case-by-case scenario.

I find that if you read the book first you most likely won’t like the movie.
