Which of these cheesy 90s disaster film is your favourite?

I don't count Titanic because it's more sappy than chessy. I'm going with ID4 for this. It's the most entertaining.

Twister (1996)
Armageddon (1998)
Deep Impact (1998)
Speed 2: Cruise Control (1997)
Volcano (1997)
Outbreak (1995)
Independence Day (1996)
Dante's Peak (1997)
Godzilla (1998)

I do like a good disaster film but somehow I missed all of those.

reply

Wow. get yourself to a steaming service immediately. Dantes Peak, Twister then Volcano..

reply

What? All of them? They're all so damn entertaining. You won't be disappointed with the cheese.

EDIT: Godzilla actually does suck. Speed 2 is at least so bad it's good.

reply

I always enjoy a good serving of cheese but mine usually is from the 70โ€™s - 80โ€™s. Iโ€™ve missed large portions thereafter. As Tcrum advised, I do have streaming and I could pull the trigger any time though. ๐Ÿ˜€

WOW DUDE...JUST...WOW.๐Ÿ™‚

reply

I know. Itโ€™s just that Iโ€™ve always been locked into certain genres and have spent all my time on them. When I say locked in, I mean trying to watch every film within them. Its great but I miss entire other segments of movies.

reply

No Contest..Dantes Peak..Awesome

reply

Some great visual effects in the movie. Other than an odd miniature, top notch effects.

reply

I think Dante's Peak or Deep Impact would be my favourite Natural Disaster movies.

Other type of disaster would be Alive (1993).

reply

I specified cheesy because movies like that and Titanic would win easily.

reply

"If I die, you can eat me", is a little bit cheesy. ๐Ÿ˜

I don't remember that line. It's Ethan Hawker, isn't it? Only he can pull off that line.

reply

I honestly don't remember, I think they all promise to eat each other. I think one of them even makes everyone promise to lick their plates or something like that.

reply

YOU MEAN MEATY๐Ÿ™‚

reply

I like them all! I always thought deep impact was loads better than armageddon though.

reply

They were both pretty bad but, yeah, I agree that Deep Impact was miles better than Armageddon.

reply

Deep Impact has the best cast of the bunch.

HOW DARE YOU!๐Ÿ™‚

Saw all of those except Speed 2.
I only liked Outbreak and ID4 out of those. And ID4 wasn't really good. Most on that list are MST3K grade.

reply

WELL...AT LEAST YOU SKIPPED SPEED 2...THATS DEFINITELY THE TURD IN THIS CANDY BAG.

reply

Sorry joes I'm not really a fan of any of those movies, Dante's Peak would probably my pick from that lot, but even that was so-so for me.

If I want great disaster movies I would look to the 70s rather than the 90s.

reply

No need to apologize. These are all cheesy movies. I'm not really going to get that with The Towering Inferno or The Poseidon Adventure.

reply

LOL...THOSE ARE BOTH GREAT MOVIES AND I CAN UNDERSTAND PEOPLES PROCLIVITY FOR THE OLDER FILMS...BUT COME ON...THEY HAVE JUST AS MUCH CHEESE AS THEIR 90S COUNTERPARTS...ITS JUST DONE IN A CLASSIER MANNER.๐Ÿ™‚
