Who’s favorite game is monopoly

I used to play monopoly when I and my brother were kids. It was a lot of fun.

i love monopoly.. but boy, oh boy.
if Lizzie Magie only could see the 21st century and her worst fears coming true.. the domination of a market(s) by a single entity, ie the economic concept of monopoly.

OK fine maybe there's like 3 entities.

People ruin Monopoly with house rules. If you don't play it correctly, you get games that take 5 hours (but they never do because people quit Monopoly when they see the writing on the wall). And that's the problem with Monopoly. Everyone quits. you never play through to the end.

Board games have improved over the decades. Modern standard games include Settlers of Catan, Carcassone, and Ticket to Ride. All easy to learn, unique mechanics, and much more fun to play for all ages.

But, as an avid board gamer, I suggest the meatier hard games like Terraforming Mars, A Feast for Odin, or Tzolk'in. I could recommend another 20.

Scrabble and Chess remain timeless and perfect.
