What do you guys think will happen to Derek Chauvin?
I bet he won't be found guilty. It's very difficult to convict a cop on murder charges. Although this particular act was caught on video, I still have doubts.

shareHe's facing 3 different charges. Third degree murder, second degree murder and second degree manslaughter. There's no way he will walk away from all of those charges with the evidence. I hope he suffers.
shareApparently, he worked the same nightclub Mr. Floyd worked at, so there may have been some personal issues/tensions between them. Rather than this whole narrative the media is spinning of stranger racist white cop murders black man for no reason at all. I bet there was bad blood between the two. Chauvin knew Floyd.

I believe you are correct, sir. The MSM is pushing the racism angle because they're trying to damage President Trump.
And I don't believe it was racism or murder. It was rank stupidity.
π
If they knew each other and there were tensions, this could imply premeditation. Either way, he's screwed. I read today he tried to cope a plea deal right before he was arrested.
shareSilly media always spinning yarns. A racist white cop would never murder a black man for no reason at all. Thatβs absurd.
shareThe 3rd degree murder charge was upgraded to 2nd degree so he's actually only facing two charges. There's a possibility he could be facing federal civil rights charges in the future though.

I have no clue. However, my understanding is that second degree murder carries intent. It might be difficult to prove intent, so he might just walk, or they might bargain it down to a lesser charge.
π
Difficult to say.
They knew each other, perhaps there was a grudge involved and he intended to harm him... but intent is almost impossible to prove. Facts are difficult enough...
You can argue that it was unnecessary excessive force, but... was it? Floyd was a bouncer. How do you expect a cop to restrain him? Guns don't seem to be allowed, tasers neither. Now knee on neck neither. So... how???
If you expect cop to do their job, you have to give them the means to do their job.
I believe he was already in handcuffs with 3 other officers on top of him. He wasn't resisting arrest as per video and in contradiction to the police's account. So the knee on the neck was overkill--literally. He still had his knee pressed against his neck after he was dead.
shareFloyd was resisting arrest. It seems that the part of the video where he's resisting arrest was edited out by mainstream media. Here you have it:

shareI think he will get many, many years in prison. But if you are right and he is found not guilty mark my words. Riots and looting will start all over.
shareTime will tell, but I disagree. He is very likely to be found guilty. There is strong evidence against him in that video. With the threat of riots if he is released, there is no way he walks free. Compare it to the Laquon McDonald case in chicago. There video supported the cop, as he shot an armed suspect who was trying to attack police. He was railroaded into prison to prevent further riots. In this case, that video convicts Chauvin.
