Worst job you ever had

Let’s hear it...
mine was loading trucks in a Walmart warehouse by hand, the boxes came down the rail thing and I had to pack em in the truck . 415 pm to 345 am. Hot, dusty, everyone was grumpy.

Line cook at Applebee’s, not that bad, pumping gas, not that bad, almost got sucked into telemarketing and door to door sales, glad I didn’t do that .

reply

YOU AND ME BOTH,BROTHER...WAL-MART,2001-2003...TIRE,LUBE,EXPRESS...THE JOB WAS TOUGH BUT NOT NEARLY AS TOUH AS DEALING WITH ALL THE ASSHOLE CUSTOMERS AND NUTJOB MANAGEMENT.

reply

Which is funny friend, because I worked at wal mart in a different capacity after that. I stocked the sporting goods and hardware section over night, when the store was closed. Very peaceful and quiet, we could listen to music. Crap pay but not a bad job . No customers

reply

LMAO...THE LATTER PART OF MY EMPLOYMENT,THEY FIGURED OUT I WAS OUTSTANDING AT STOCKING AND FRONTING AND SHIT...I DID QUITE A BIT,HAD ME A NICE LITTLE CASSETTE PLAYER AND ALL...SMALL WORLD.

reply

I used to steal the microwave bacon and make it and eat it while I was working

reply

LOL....BEEF JERKY🤣

reply

I stole a vin diesel DVD

reply

YOURE FREAKIN ME OUT...FREE DVDS WERE THE ONLY REASON I STAYED AS LONG AS I DID...

reply

Me too. And PlayStation 2 games

reply

ITS LIKE A PUBLIC SERVICE...STEALING FROM THE DEVIL.

reply

Did you also put cardboard in the compactor when it was supposed to go in the bailer ?

reply

I USED TO PUT A LOT OF STUFF IN THE COMPACTOR...IT SMASHES STUFF!!!

reply

Cardboard jams it !!

reply

MERCHANDISE DOES COOL SHIT IN THERE THOUGH!😎

reply

I worked at Jiffy Lube and other tune up shops for several years in college. It was a fun time.

reply

I’ve wondered about that sort of job. Was it fun ? Did you learn a lot about cars ?

reply

What you learn at a Jiffy Lube is rather limited because it’s pretty lubricant and filters oriented. Some Saturdays we would do oil changes on over 100 cars like an assembly line. I still do mechanic work so it is a good place to start.

reply

OIL,BATTERIES,TIRES...WALMART TAUGHT ME THE BASICS.WOULD HAVE BEEN MORE FUN AT A JIFFY LUBE I BET...THE WALMART CREEPS IN AND RUINS EVERYTHING IN ITS REALM.

reply

Yeah I’ve talked to other Walmart employees who had negative experiences also.

reply

I went there once and the guy told me I needed new transmission fluid. He’s like it’s supposed to be pink, yours is black. I asked has he ever done a trans flush before, he said no , but he figured it out. He was the manger. I also bought tires there the same day cause he undercut the quote I was given from the other place

reply

Are you a damn good mechanic ?

reply

I can do most anything. You would be surprised how much help the internet is these days in mechanic work. If there’s anything that I run into that stumps me, there’s always google. Oh, and having the right tools makes any job easier. I have a weekly Snap On bill.

reply

I worked as a service person for a car rental place. The mechanic came to my cubicle and told me what he needed. I had no idea what he was talking about, and often ordered wrong stuff. Not the worst job I ever had, but I was so bad at it

reply

Taxi Driver, New York City, early 1980s. The first two weeks were really cool. After that it's the worst job I ever had. I lasted less than 3 months. 12 hour shift in crappy traffic.

reply

MY WIFE'S EX IS A NYC CAB DRIVER...FULL TIME SINCE THE 70'S....I HATE THAT GUY.

reply

did you get robbed?

reply

I worked day shift. Worse traffic but safer in terms of crime. I didn't get robbed but a couple of times got beat on the fare (passenger bolted).

reply

I took a cab in nyc once. Going from broadway to jfk. Can driver scared the crap out of me and broke all 5 rules posted on the window

reply

In 2007 a friend from the Midwest came to NYC for a visit--his first ever visit to NYC. The very first thing that happened to him is he got ripped off by the cab driver--charged him $100 to go from JFK to Manhattan.

reply

The guy I had talked on his phone, sped and swore ! And got in a fight with the toll booth guy !

reply

SOUNDS LIKE YOUR STANDARD NYC TAXI EXPERIENCE😄

reply

I enjoyed it, once I got out alive

reply

Did you ever ask if someone was talking to you?

reply

I LIVED IN NYC FOR 2 MONTHS...I SPENT THE WHOLE TIME WAITING FOR A CAR TO GIVE ME THE OPPURTUNITY TO SAY "HEY,IM WALKIN HERE!"....NEVER CAME UP😪

reply

did you climb the Empire State Building to see if the biplanes would show up?

reply

LMAO...WOULD HAVE IF I COULD I COULD HAVE...I DID EVERY OTHER TOURIST THING THOUGH...I WAS THERE IN LATE 2002...WTC SITE WAS INSANE...GREAT TIME THOUGH...CAME HOME TO CALIFORNIA WITH A WOMAN,A DOG, A CAT AND 3 OR 4 HUNDRED DVDS...COST ME AFORTUNE IN AIR FARE.

reply

I worked a couple of years in management at a large scrapyard. The fun parts were learning how to operate the large cranes and learning how to identify all manner of metals. There are MANY types of stainless steel and brass. The worst part was dealing with some of the customers.

reply

That sounds really neat

reply

I think the worst job I had was working for a company that made cheques. So if you ordered cheques from your bank we made them. My job was taking the books that had just been bound, and making sure that each stack had the same name on them and that shipping labels matched the cheques. Then put in a box to be sealed for the mail. It was soooooooooooo mind numbing and repetitive. The pay was okay, but I couldn't do it for too long.

reply

I worked in a mailing house, all we did was mail people coupons and flyers that they didn’t ask for . You’re right. Got old fast . I didn’t include this in my worst job because I was just a temp

reply

I was full time. Had great benefits and during a postal strike I had tons of overtime, but the names would get all blurry and I was terrified I'd make a mistake and miss a mistake somewhere. Thank goodness I didn't, but I just couldn't do it anymore.

reply

I can imagine it would be a big mistake if you mailed someone the wrong cheque’s. By the way would this be in Canada ?

reply

Yeah, we had to stamp all shipping labels so they would know who did it if someone did.

And yes, it was in Canada.

reply

Just the way you spelled cheque with the que made me curious. I’m a Canadian

reply

I know that!! You are my fellow Albertan if I am not mistaken. :) Cheques and checks are two very different things to me. 😜

reply

I am a fellow Alberta . Are you in Edmonton ?

reply

That I am

reply

We can’t like each other then

reply

Oh, don't be like that!!! I was born in Calgary, and still visit frequently. I also don't watch hockey or football, or care about them at all.

reply

Haha ok I agree. I actually go back and fourth several times a year as well

reply

In Alberta you pay the check and you get paid by the cheque

reply

tax auditor

reply

Are those the bad guys ??

reply

Worst job ever was working part time at Sears out of high school. Horrible incompetent management and overall lack of any sense of consistency.

reply

Ya sears sucks

reply
