Is this 9/11 tribute poster in bad taste?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/911-NEVER-FORGET-SEPTEMBER-11-2001-TRIBUTE-THE-FACES-WORLD-TRADE-CENTER-ATTACK/293222233663?hash=item444568363f:g:rbsAAOSwMspdeJp4

I was really surprised to see this result while looking for posters for the 'one world trade center' building.

I thought 'how is that a tribute?'

reply

NOT IF YOU DRINK A SIX PACK AT LUNCH.

reply

It's dog ugly, I'll give you that.

I can see the tribute aspect though with all the victim's faces included, but even that is done in a shoddy way, just superimposed one image over another.

It's not offensive but I wouldn't be hanging it.

reply

AM I WRONG THAT IT WOULD BE MORE POWERFUL AND BETTER LOOKING IF IT WAS THE TOWERS IN THEIR GLORY,NOT ALL EXPLODING AND SHIT?

reply

Yes, you're basically looking at a murder photo.

Maybe the victims faces in the new tower would be better, because that is their monument.

reply

YEAH...THAT WOULD BE CLASSY.

reply

Oh lordy...NO! I cannot imagine anyone wanting this! The WTC before it was hit is apropos. It would let someone remember and reflect without seeing the horror again. The two buildings extending skyward were much more appealing than the ugly thing which took their place. I think they should have rebuilt the two buildings. Doing so would have been a slap in the face of the terrorists!

This poster is analogous to having a poster of a multiple vehicle fiery crash. My doctor is from New York and has a large photo of the two buildings on the wall. Every time I see it...I remember. 😢

reply

What if they had the same theme but showing Pearl Harbor with battleship row destroyed?

reply

Still in bad taste I'd say. Would you like a photo of a car wreck made out of your family members if they perished that way?

reply

If you google “ remember Pearl Harbor poster” it seems most are meant to be used to rally the population into the war effort.

I would say no thanks to a poster of the car wreck where my family died.

reply

This is the same photo that was plastered all over the news and newspapers when it happened, which did a pretty good job drumming people up for Iraq and Afghanistan.

reply

Yes, it is
It's best to move on
Our best men killed the bastards responsible with lead and fire
We have rebuilt and continue to grow

reply

Not if you're muslim extremist.
